January 29, 200719 yr I haven't been to a game in a few years, but from what I can remember the upper Arena gets more into the game than the Lower Arena.:creepy: Honestly that is pretty much true! I know today I was very aggrevated with the crowd for the most part. But as I said once it did hit the 9 minute mark in the second half, the crowd really got into it and the atmosphere was awesome, and you could see the players feeding off the crowd, it was awesome!
January 29, 200719 yr I was at the game, and I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the crowd as always UNTIL it hit the 9 minute mark in the second half. I made point of it to look up at the time on the clock, once the crowd started to get into it, and well looked what happened we went on a big run to get a comfortable lead. But as people who argued with me, the crowd never gives them team more energy, and doesn't mess up the other team...:sssh: I was at the game as well and I have to disagree with you. It was the 6th game I have been to this season and it was by far the loudest. The student section did a great job at getting chants going and I was pleased with the overall atmosphere of the game. The opposing team was visibly flustered.

January 29, 200719 yr Good effort by the Cats today. Observations: There was good movement in the offense, and they hustled on D. Thomas played well. I'd start him over Perry at this point. Why isn't Morris getting the ball? Only 6 shots today (tied for 2nd fewest this season). Also shot 6 @ UGA and 8 vs Vandy. His average is over 10. If he's not working hard enough, pull him and go small. They'd play fine with Jasper/Bradley/Meeks/Crawford/Stevenson. They shot the 3 well at 40%. At UGA they shot 22% and vs. Vandy 27%. Seems like they're living or dying with the 3. This is probably related to my last point. Good win, and hopefully they'll continue to improve. Its looking better that they can limit themselves to only 3 more losses before the SEC tourney.

Well dont get me wrong I been to alot of games this year too, and this game was definitely the loudest. Which is kind of saying somthing to how quiet the crowd has been most of the year. I know I was in the student section as well, but as I said it wasn't until the 9 minute mark when the place really did get into it, but from that point on the crowd was in it the whole game and it was a very exciting atmosphere...:thumb:
January 29, 200719 yr Also is it just me, or does it seem like Morris gets called for just about anything even if he barely puts his pinky finger on someone? I feel bad for the guy, because alot of the fouls they call on him is fouls that they usually dont call on anyone else, and that is why he gets in foul trouble alot...

I thought that was the situation his first 2 years. You make some dumb mistakes, and you get labeled as a guy who fouls a lot, and then they're watching you super close. I really felt this year they were calling him very fairly up until the last couple games (and Louisville. That crew should be banned for how they called him). It also seems like they're letting defenders really cover him up. The last 3 games he's averaging 6.6 shot attempts per game down from 10.3 average for the season.
January 29, 200719 yr Well Since I bashed the Cats last week and harped on them pretty bad. I will say they played some good basketball today. I love Meeks; I love to watch him play. I hope he grows to what he is capable of. Great Game today by Bradley he let the game come to him and didnt push things. Crawford played a solid basketball game. He didn't take the crazy shots like he has in the past. Morris was Morris with his slow feet and it hurt him today. Thought Tubby did a great job with subs today and mixing up the defense. Uk played well and won. I dont know if it would have been the same story if Lofton plays but a W is a W . Great win Cats!
January 29, 200719 yr If we put Meeks in for Jasper, and have Bradley run the poing again we have a much better offense out there that can put the ball in the basket, which is something we all can admit is something we struggle at. Stats say otherwise.. UK is shooting just under 50% and averaging more ppg than they have in several years. It's always nice to have scorers, but IMO a shoot first, pass second player isn't what wins games at the PG spot. Yeah Bradley is better off at the 2 guard however as I been saying since the start of the year, I think the team would be better off with him at the pg spot, because it actually gives us a guy who can score at the pg spot, which is something we need. We already tried that once, didn't work out so well.
January 29, 200719 yr Does making an unsubstantiated claim some how make you feel better about Lofton not being in blue? What's the point of even bringing it up? UK was impressive. Lofton didn't play. So instead of talking about what MIGHT have been, why not focus on what WAS... I can see your point on this one GT, My statement to this effect was that I believe that U.K. probably would had won today with Lofton in U.T.'s lineup. I felt that the Cats played exceptional defense and would had won by probably 10-15 with Lofton playing. You are correct in just to enjoy the big win and not talking about what might have been................I am doing just that. Cats beat rotten flop, that is always sweet! :thumb: I don't believe I need anyone to tell me how to act or react or feel about this one. :thumb:
January 29, 200719 yr Good W for the Cats, they really played well in the second half, and won a must-win game. It was nice to see Bradley get going, and I think once again Morris got hit with some cheap fouls. Sometimes I think the refs look for him down low to make a foul. Some of his fouls are dumb and he deserves them, but there are a lot of cheap fouls whistled on Randolph. Overall good effort, now its on to a tough trip to Fayetteville to take on the Hogs. GO BIG BLUE!
January 29, 200719 yr Im sure he'll get a chance to practice at the Fieldhouse during the off season if he wants. :thumb: Actually it will probally be at the boys club or the YMCA is where he usally shoots.

It's always nice to have scorers, but IMO a shoot first, pass second player isn't what wins games at the PG spot. We already tried that once, didn't work out so well. And a pass and pass only Pg who cant score isn't going to win many games especially when you play good offensive teams. Also remember earlier in the year when Bradley was at the point are offense was doing REALLY good, it was the defense that lost us games. But Tubby has fixed that defensive problem with this team, and well look at the times when we score most of our points during the game, it is usually when Bradley is running the point. I dont think alot of you all have noticed that when we go on scoring runs it usually always is with Bradley at the point. Yeah I admit he will do some stupid stuff sometimes like dribble to much, but Jasper does the same thing. Except Bradley can actually shoot the 3, and he actually drives the lane alot more than Jasper does...
