Ryle 42 Campbell County 14

Featured Replies

Ryle led 35-0 at the half and the game was never in doubt.

Congrats to Ryle on the dominating win. The running clock started with 1-2 minutes left in the first half. Camel starters scored two TD's vs Raiders subs in the 3Q. Looks like a long season in Claryville.

Curious when does Campbell county truly start taking a look at all the coaches in the program?  They are atrocious.  All of them need to be released.

The team speed variance was obvious last night. The Camels were "out-athleted" all over the field. If you switched coaching staffs, Ryle still wins the game handily. Is coaching the issue or are there a lot of kids that don't want to play in a struggling program?

Can anyone speak to the youth, middle school, and freshman programs.  Success just doesn’t mysteriously happen at the high school level?

What are the realistic expectations Campbell Co? Going back to 1998 (because that's how far the khsaa website goes) they've only won 8 games twice. When is the last time they won 10 games in a season? Whats the furthest they've made it? Coaching names like John schlarman, Steve lickert, and now Brian Weinrich are all coaches I would say have had success. Not trying to stir the pot, just looking under the hood to understand what is going on.

Certainly got a top notch facility.  Other than early fall games have setting sun directly in receiver’s eyes going eastward.  Alignment of stadium could have been better.

Stadium is nice. What's the weight room like? What other facilities?

Can only speak limitedly as a fan….baseball field is top-notch, but was all grass….boy’s gym nice and capacity mediocre (probably following down trend in attendance at high school games).

Campbell County is truly a puzzle. Everything a program wants has been in place for years. The Campbell County Red Devils were a fantastic youth program for years. I am not close to the program so judging from a distance but from the outside looking in you would expect more success.

From what I understand and have seen over the years, the Red Devils are primarily a feeder for New Cath.

Not surprised about that but surely not all their players? Spartans feed Beechwood and Covington Catholic.

Certainly not all. But from what I've seen, most of the top players (and most of the players period) from the Red Devils end up at NewCath. The CC Youth Camels is a newer organization open to kids enrolled in Campbell County public schools which is the primary feeder organization for Campbell County.

From what I’ve heard recently, the majority of players playing in the Red Devils program attend various Catholic schools. I don’t know the breakdown of public/private, but did hear it’s a fairly big majority.

If Campbell County’s current eighth grade class remains playing as a team for the Camels, the varsity team could be really good in the next couple years.
