If Campbell County’s current eighth grade class remains playing as a team for the Camels, the varsity team could be really good in the next couple years.

They had several good middle school teams. Actually the Senior class I believe won the championship in the 8th grade.

That’s concerning then. Hopefully they can get things figured out with the high school teams.

The 8th grade team last year won the 8th grade championship, but noticed when watching them play Highlands frosh last week that two big receivers were not on the team.  Where did they go?

This years 8th grade team has good size and a really athletic quarterback for that level but he does pretty much everything.  Begs the question if middle school championships are more important than developing kids as football players for future high school success.

That has been said for the last 10 years about the 8th grade classes. Call a spade a spade. Once they get to high school and the varsity affairs and coaches get ahold of them they either quit or lose interest. Same coaches, same results. Over and over again. Insanity!

That’s very sad then.

In 4 years it will be reversed.
