Pikeville cancels 2025 game at Ironton? - False

I didn’t but the final was what, 48-33, and didn’t Pikeville score with .45 seconds left in the game? That’s a pretty good beat down in my opinion. Overall, other than the win it was just a bad experience for Ironton with Pikeville from what I’m hearing from Ironton. I was told Pikeville wouldn’t even send pre-sale tickets for Ironton to pre-sale to their fans. That their fans had to wait in line to purchase.

I did watch the game, lol, and it was 27 all in the 4th quarter.

On the rest of it, I have no idea about any of that.

    Is that enough evidence?

For what it's worth, in terms of "damage being done," I don't have any dog in the fight to begin with, but I didn't take anything LCRW has posted as being done in a fashion to try to cause damage. He

I find it highly unlikely that Pikeville would willingly breach a contract. The Panthers had an open spot to fill in its 2024 schedule and the two teams agreed to a one-year contract. The new cycle for two-year deals in KY started with the 2025 season, so logistically, they couldn’t agree to a 2-year contract with Ironton because that would mean they would have to find another opponent for a one-year deal for the 2026 season. That wouldn’t make any sense.

As far as the game, neither team dominated the other. It was tied 27-27 half way thru the 4th quarter. Ironton converted a 4th and 22 to take the lead. Pikeville had to try and answer fast and failed to do so. Ironton capitalized on their mistakes and took a comfortable lead. Yes, Pikeville scored late, but the final score is by no means an indication of how the game was played. Both teams fought hard and played a very competitive game.

Why would the Ironton AD lie ? What’s in it for him?

Well this should be easy enough.  The Ironton AD can produce a signed 2 year contract or the Pikeville AD can produce a signed 1 year contract.

Is that enough evidence?

Is it signed by both parties?

If I were you, I wouldn't rely on "hearsay".  I heard it DIRECTLY from the Pikeville AD. It was a one year deal to fill an open date on Pikeville's schedule. This is the 2nd year of a two year cycle. Since there was no return game, Ironton received/will receive a stipend. If you ever learn anything about Pikeville, they will NEVER back down from stiff competition.  To confirm that truth, next season CAL a 3-A school will be on the Pikeville schedule.

Wow on playing CAL.  They are going to be out of this world next year.

True, and Pikeville is losing some studs to graduation. Great talent coming up which will be great experience for them.

I’m waiting for LRCW’s proof and response.

I sent these two photos to my source and am awaiting his reply. And if Ironton’s AD lied to him I will apologize to the Pikeville football program and their fans. I’m not an Ironton fan, I titled the thread with a question mark for a reason, and asked for Pikeville fans input. And I appreciate your answers and I now await the reply from my friend.
