The Scott County Cardinals (3-3) are on the road again this week, traveling to Lawrencburg to face Anderson County (3-3). This is a district matchup and last year saw the Cardinals blowout the Bearcats 51 to 13. The Cardinals started slow out of the gate and played some really good teams early in the season but are now in the thick of what appears to be a manageable stretch.

Scott County's offense is reliant on the run. How reliant? Last week they threw the ball just three times (2 of those being completions to Elijah Lilly who totaled 56 yards receiving). They had three players rush for over 70 yards, all of three whom found the end zone. Kanye Garrett was the third leading rusher in the game but is the leading rusher overall with nearly 84 yards per game.

Anderson County's lead rusher Will Rhody only had 8 attempts last week and was held to 6 yards. What role he plays Friday is important to any chance the Bearcat offense has as he was averaging over 100 yards per game heading into last week.

This has another Scott County blowout written on the wall as the Cardinals continue to prepare themselves for a postseason run after a disappointing start to the year. A huge piece of that is taking care of business quickly and efficiently against their district opponent this week.

I like the way the Bearcats are trending; however, they are in way over their head this week.

I'm with you right here. Anderson County is much improved and I know they'll compete hard tonight, but the talent gap is probably too wide right now. Scott County, comfortably.

I watched Anderson County last week against South Oldham. They are much much improved in year 2 of Chief Smoke era. They have pretty good size and one athlete in Nehemiah Wilson that can do some things in space. With that said most of their guys still go both ways and I think it will be hard for them to keep with Scott Co. I think Anderson gets on the board but I like Scott Co 42-14.
