Every one score game, both teams can look back on 5-10 plays in the game that changed the course of action. So it is hard to pick out one play or player and hang the loss on that. However, in both games Joe Burrow had the ball with a chance to win the game and failed. He was off target on several throws today with the biggest one being the pass he threw behind Iosivas that would have been a first down if Joe was on target. Easy throw and he missed it. I hang a chunk of that on Zac Taylor's pre-season coaching plan.

If McPherson makes that extra point, the Chiefs don't go for two on their following TD. They kick the extra point and the outcome is the same. The missed extra point was a non-factor in the final score.

Completely agree, as I said earlier, evidently Joe is just gonna stink games 1-2 his whole career, 1-9 in those games now, would be 0-10 if Pratt does make a great play and caused a Dalvin Cook fumble

Chase flipping out did no one any favors but he appeared to be facemasked and there was no call.

The replays I saw showed clearly….no face mask, no horse collar and no drop down.  Nothing but a hard-nosed clean tackle.  Chase was 100% out of line and out of control.  Not the reaction a team leader should be having at a critical moment.

There is some video on social media showing two Chiefs offensive linemen holding and throwing down a Bengals defensive lineman on the 4th down play resulting in the Anthony PI.  It sure would have been a different story if that play would have had offsetting penalties.  

0-2 for the third straight year. Bengals were the better team today. Didn’t like the DPI, the receiver was jumping backwards and initiated contact. 
 

It is past time to hold these officials accountable for horrible performances like today. 

The penalty that is happening as much as holding and isn't being called is the DB tugging the WR jersey when the DB is beat. I want to see that one called more. Then they call the Bengals DB for that on Kelce and there were many more much worse than that which weren't called. Got to be consistent. Either it is or isn't.

On the holding calls, Hendrickson was dominating that rookie OT. There could have been a half dozen or more holds called that weren't.

Ugh frustrating loss. I was hard on Taylor last week, but I thought the game plan today was great. I loved the decision to go for it on 4th down by the goal line that ended up being a touchdown. If they don’t convert that when they could have taken a lead with a field goal, people would have complained non stop about that decision. So he gets credit for making an aggressive decision and it working. 
 

It sucks that they are now once again 0 and 2. However a game like today also shows me they still can be one of the best teams in the NFL and can expect similar things to previous years. Where they overcome this bad start and go on a good size winning streak to be right back in it. 

A play I want to see again is just prior to the TD, Moss had a short run to the right on 3rd and 1 or 2. Moss slipped down then jumped to his left and leaped forward. It looked to me like a terrible spot by the official. Moss also was laying on top of a Chiefs tackler so he was not officially down. Ball should have been spotted at the 1, first and goal for the Bengals. Instead it was 4th and 1. Burrow gets the 1st on a sneak but took a big hit. 

I wanted the Bengals to challenge that spot on the Moss run. Then, Taylor called a time out prior to the 4th down QB sneak play. If you are going to call a time out, go ahead and throw the challenge flag. If you are right on it being a bad spot, you get the 1st down and don't lose a timeout and don't subject Burrow to that hit. If you are wrong, you may lose one of your challenges but on the 1 yard line it was worth the risk.

I also blame Zac Taylor for not getting Burrow enough live game reps in the preseason, especially since Burrow was coming off an injury and missed the latter part of last season.
