Boone County travels to Newport to take on the Wildcats who will host a football game for the first time in two years.  Newport is 2-0 on the young season and ranked #10 in the latest BGP 1A rankings.  The Rebels are coming off a loss to Lloyd who is ranked #10 in 3A.  In the loss to Lloyd the Rebels were tied at halftime 7-7 before the wheels fell off in the second half.  Will the first half Rebels show up, or the second half Rebels?  
 

Newport brings an explosive offense lead by Rodzion Thompson who has 171 rushing yards and 2 TD’s with an average of nearly 16 yards per carry.  The Wildcats can also beat you through the air with QB Kyle Lee who has 171 passing yards and 2 TD’s.

Boone’s rushing attack has been strong with RB’s Jayden Jackson with 131 yards on the season average nearly 7 yards per carry, and Steven Johnson with 123 yards averaging nearly 5 yards per carry.

I think Boone wins a close game in this one. 

I expect a close game. Going with my alma mater Newport in a tight one. Hopefully everyone can use a toilet without issue..... ?

Take it for what it's worth, but Boone vs. Lloyd was 7-7 at the half. Boone vs. Campbell scrimmage was either tied or one score at the half.

I hope it’s a good game. Lopsided games are never fun to watch regardless of who’s playing.
