  • We think it should be a pretty good game too and we included it in our Pick 5 Contest:

I am going to give Lloyd some "reverse rat poison" here. New Cath wins 21-13! If you don't know what I am referring to in "reverse rat poison" do some digging into Nick Saban quotes at SEC media days from this year, or for "rat poison" he used the term quite a bit his last 5-6 years. Lloyd should be okay if they don't eat the rat poison that's been laid around after the big W they picked up against New Cath last year.

Tough pick, this should be a good and close game for whoever wins. Good luck to both teams.

LLoyd returns a number of skill players.  A lot of speed for NCC to deal with.  The question is how the line gel with all the new starters.  NCC brings back a strong core of athletes.  Should be a good game.

My gut instinct says New Cath wins this one. Just a feeling. Nothing other than that to say why I feel New Cath wins.

I would put the juggernauts skilled players against anybody. The question is how good is the new line going to play? Newport Catholic will be seeing a whole different offense than what they saw last year with our starting quarterback who can really air it out. I’m taking the juggernauts in a close one.

How many starters on the O-line did Lloyd lose?

Lloyd lost all of their lineman.

New Cath had 4 new starters last year on the line and it showed but by playoff time they improved. I’m not sure how deep and much depth LLoyd will had on its line last season but that could hurt bad if they wasn’t much depth.

For NCC to win they must control the clock with a strong run offense.  The run will open up the game for Mile (QB) and his core of receivers.  NCC line has been solid during their scrimmages. LLoyd has great speed, and I understand their QB can be spot on with his receivers.  Should be a good one.  Pulling for NCC.

If Lloyd's line is completely new, I expect Lloyd to have that QB rolling out towards the flats looking down field, or quick passes to the flats with the ball getting out his his hands quickly. NewCath has a lot to prove up front early on both sides of the ball. Should be a pretty good game.
