St. X will host Frederick Douglass this Friday at 7:00 pm. I assume it will be the same format as last year where varsity played 3 quarters and JV the 4th quarter. Last year Frederick Douglass won by 1 because St. X went for two after scoring at end of 3Q but the conversion failed and Frederick Douglass got the win.

I'll be looking to see which St. X QB emerges as the starter after this scrimmage so both will get reps. St. X QB Mason Trimble and Thomas Andriole are both quality QB's so good problem to have. I'll also be interested to see how the offensive line does as I heard the defense got the best of the O-Line in the intrasquad scrimmage. St. X LB Karsten Busch is legit D1 prospect with offers from UofL and UofK amongst others and will be one to watch.

I will be interested in seeing how Frederick Douglass looks because they had some good young players last year and should be one of the top teams in 6A.

I will be at game and plan to do updates on here but I will have to check to see if game will be streamed or not.

Yes please do.

FD has a lot of D1 talent…it will be interesting to see how the Tigers match up with all that talent this year.

The question for Douglass is, how does our new defensive personnel and rotation hold up against the Tiger O. Looking forward to kickoff.

Who are some of the D1 kids for both teams?

St. X:

LB Karsten Busch offers from UofL, UofK, and others.

WR Marlon Harbin offers from UofL, Uofk, and others.

DE Erik Ekens is committed to Eastern Illinois

DB James Burnett is 2X 400 meter state champion so he will at least be D1 in track but I think he can be in football as well.

St. X has one freshman on the varsity roster Graham Centimole. He's #70 and O-lineman.

Looks like a roster full of talent. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Both theses teams should be really good this season but I say Trinity is definitely the team to beat in 6A this year.

I'd say as of now, they are the overwhelming favorite.

Just found out this scrimmage is going to be livestreamed. I'll post the link once it's available.

I may have to ride over to Poplar Level to check this one out.
