Good scrimmage for both teams but Birds have to leave this scrimmage with a lot of optimism.

Running game looked good. No designed runs for Litmer but he had 1 or 2 real nice scrambles. Surrey is the one to watch. They lined him up all over. He will get the ball a ton. Had a very impressive 1

My Highlands insiders have been telling me this Bird team is bigger, stronger, faster, and better looking this year with all players bought into a team first mentality.  Knowing that, only Bowling Gre

  • I know a scrimmage doesn’t always mean a lot but it seems Highlands can at least play with Male which has to give them confidence for the season.

I would say more than play with, I would say play even with.

I think Highlands is the real deal unfortunately I also think Cooper is more of the real deal.  I say Cooper wins again this season.

What did Male's QB situation look like? Did Harris play QB the entire varsity portion?

Sounds Highlands could have a great year.

Especially considering the first report on Cooper.

They mixed multiple QBs in. Harris and #10. They only threw 2 passes in the 1st half.

Did I hear correctly that on Highlands 1st drive tonight, that they used Six different RB’s? What in the world. Six? Heard they march it right down the field for a score. That’s impressive.

Have been an NFHS member for five years and never been able to view a home Male game.  The cameras have been unattended and the field is distorted.  Male has never been pro-active in the past of curing the issue.  Did they get it right this year and was the scrimmage actually viewable?

It was not.

Thanks.  Just hate it and wonder why Male administration and/or NFHS have chosen not to address.

Correct! Every 3 play rotation whole first half , all 6 with 20 plus yards , that’s not including Surrey and Litmer who both also ran the ball very well.

Had a very impressive 10-15 yard catch that he broke for a long TD. Break away speed was legit. Pulled away from everyone. Teams can throw away film from last year’s offense for game planning purposes. This offense will feature multiple guys with a couple having top end talent.

Jackson Arnold deserves a shout out as well. He took a slant 60 plus yards to the house and also had an INT on defense. With his length (6’4) and speed, he will be a big asset at CB and WR. The safety trio of Gabe Williams, Hayden Haas and Adam Surrey will be fun to watch!
