bugatti Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I never make much of the Summer League, especially the California Classic which is the Summer League before the Summer League. All I look for are guys that pop and look the part. I watched the first half so I saw Bronny get his first bucket, miss some wide-open looks with a slow release, and get cooked on defense several times. When I saw he was the headline features later in the day, I assumed he came to life in the second half, instead, I got USC production level stats.
newarkcatholicfan Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 3 points for James in his 2nd game.
16thBBall Fan Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Just so everyone knows at 7:30 tonight on ESPN the Lakers and Bronny James are taking on the Rockets and Reed Shepherd.
16thBBall Fan Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 The Houston Rockets defeated the Lakers 99-80. The Rockets were led by Reed Shepherd with 23 points on 9-17 from the field and 4-6 from 3 and 1-2 from the line. James had 8 points on just 3-14 from the floor and 0-8 from 3 and 2-2 from the line. 1
Jumper_Dad Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Reed doing Reed things tonight, nothing flashy (except crossing up Knect) just a pretty solid game. Bronny can't shoot, but he looked much better than I expected in the rest of his game. I'll admit, the bar was set low but he was decent. 1
bugatti Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Updated all-time Houston Rockets players: 1) Hakeem Olajuwon 2) Moses Malone 3) James Harden 4) Reed Sheppard 5) Elvin Hayes 2
TheDeuce Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Reed is a liability on defense, but he’ll get better. I have no idea why Bronny shoots as many threes as he does because buddy can’t shoot as well as I can from range. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 here is video of a great move by Shepherd. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1533616040559393/

But yeah, manning up is going to take some time. Maybe Bronny is listening to some of these pundits that believe he is a cross between Jrue Holiday and Avery Bradley. If players produced in line with the same expectations he is getting as a second round player (especially the 55th pick that would have gone undrafted without his name) the NBA would have 50 franchises because the talent would be so deep. 1
Jumper_Dad Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Reed Sheppard Game 2 of Summer League. 22 Points, 7 Assists, 6 Rebounds, 5 Steals, 1 Block, 60% FG I think that's 8 or 9 steals and at least 4 blocks in two games. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Reed Shepherd and the Rockets are taking on the Pistons currently in the 3rd quarter the game is on NBA TV.
16thBBall Fan Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Detroit defeated the Rockets 87-73. Shepherd was held to just 15 points tonight. This was his first game in the summer league when he struggled a little. He was just 6-17 from the field and 0-2 from 3 and 3-3 from the line with 4 turnovers and had a +/- of -14 for the game.
