Today Covington Catholic beat Cooper 55-45 to advance to the finals, and Highlands beat Ryle 36-31 to advance. Tipoff for the JV finals will be at 6:00pm on Monday, February 19, immediately prior to the finals in the Jack Kaelin NKY Freshman Invitational Tournament.

Both championship games are being played at Covington Catholic, and Cov Cath will have streaming video available for $10. Access to the livestream can be purchased here: www.covcath.org/athletics/can

Highlands won the regular season matchup between these two, with a 49-42 victory back on January 12th. Game was played at Highlands.

    Definitely at CovCath.   Not sure Highlands is a realistic contender in the region the next few years.    

    Will the highlands freshman play in both games or focus on the freshman game? Wasn’t this an issue in football too?

    They do not play a whole lot of JV

    Curious comment, care to elaborate?   It would seem that the freshman and JV teams are about as even as possible.  I'd say if one isn't competitive in the region the next few years then neither will be.  No doubt that Cooper and Newport will both be strong for a couple more years.
