Boyle and Lincoln are the 2-3.

And that Boyle vs Lincoln game is going to be pretty special.

Obviously Boyle can win, but I think Lincoln getting into the region is the best chance at someone spoiling DCA from making it to Rupp.

I know Somerset has a few losses of late, but they had some injuries. I have a hard time believing they aren’t top 3-4. There are some key injuries around the region, and it may end up being who is th

Is that style of play, or what?  Boyle handled LC pretty easily in their last matchup.

I'm not saying you're wrong either...I know their style of play leads to lower scoring/closer games.  LC could absolutely pull the upset, but I think Boyle is a tough matchup for them with their athletes and guard play...

From what I saw of that game it looked like they had one of those nights where none of their shots went down.  They only shot 18% overall and that’s not typical of them.  I’d say they’d revert to the mean on shooting and it will be a close contest.

What does the 45th district tournament look like now? As far as matchups. I know DCA is the one seed, but how does the rest shake out?

1. DCA

2. Boyle/Lincoln

3. Boyle/Lincoln

4. Danville

5. Garrard

6. KSD

Not sure who will finish 2/3 due to tiebreakers. Whoever is 3rd has to play KSD, but they'll win that with ease, so you can go ahead and prepare for a Lincoln/Boyle district semifinal.

Garrard and Danville will play each other with the winner facing DCA in the other semifinal. I believe the district meeting to set dates, times, etc. is next Wednesday, February 21.

Titus Boyd looked out of sync against Boyle last night. He passed on some shots and especially floater and layup opportunities he normally takes. If he is shooting well and they learn to use Atney & Ayiei together High/Low action they can make a special run.

I agree.  He looked a little tired to me.  It’s not normal for him to miss two free throws in a row like he did.

I would see Boyle beating Lincoln as the upset. Lincoln has reached a point where they are consistently doing what they want to do to opponents. Boyle, though athletic and talented, has been wildly inconsistent. I expect both teams to be on their A game with elimination on the line and think it will come down to the wire, something like 52 - 49.

I do agree it will be close and low scoring.

I just don’t see it. IMO, the only reason this is even a conversation is Jeff Jackson. From a talent perspective Boyle should be the heavy favorite. As was mentioned by @LethalPG, Boyle’s guards makes this a really bad matchup for Lincoln. Plus, the size advantage goes to Boyle.

Where are you seeing the advantage for Lincoln? How do you view it as an upset if Boyle wins? I think Boyle is top 2 in the region in terms of talent.

Boyle needs Guy Turner to step up and knock some shots down if they’re going to knock off DCA if they make it to the district championship to play them again. I think he can be the X factor for the Rebels. We know what Tavi and Demauriah can do with the ball in their hands. He needs to help space the floor.

I agree - in terms of athletic ability, Boyle blows Lincoln out of the water. The series is 1-1 for the year though, Lincoln winning by 3 points in the higher scoring game and Boyle by 9 in the lower scoring one.

Boyle is the streakiest team in the region. I want to see how they respond to this DCA loss. DCA and Lincoln have defensively put it to them. They were just able to limit everyone besides Nuckols this time around against Lincoln. As it was pointed out, not expecting that same offensive performance from Lincoln again.

You asked me at the beginning of the year who are some players to watch out for. Well now that we are at the end of the year I think it is important to note standout players who weren’t necessarily highlighted at the start. Cash Baird for Lincoln is one of those. Great offensive output the first time around against Boyle, not nearly as productive last night.

So what makes me think Lincoln should win? Consistency, defense, Blade Nuckols, Cash Baird, and yes, Jeff Jackson.

Fair enough. We will find out in the near future!

Guy needs to catch and shoot . He is hesitating trying to fake his man and then it's too late. gives the defense a chance to recover. Don't know if he has lost some confidence or just the freshman over thinking. He has good shooting form, quickness and some hops. He just needs to realize that he is open, catch and shoot.

Just noticed Pulaski and Rockcastle play tomorrow night. I had just assumed this game had already been made up. I believe this game has big district seeding on the line.
