Get Will Stein, former Trinity and UL quarterback, currently OC at Oregon.  The Ducks put up a lot of points this year with Bo Nix.  But I question whether either party would be interested.

I think he has a great relationship with Freeman. His recruiting background is in the Midwest.

I don't see UK getting an out of the box up tempo coordinator.  That is not what Stoops wants.  It will be interesting to see if he goes back to the NFL to get his next guy.  If so, It will be another position coach that wants a chance to show what he can do.

Why would Stein leave Oregon for the same position at UK?

True. But I don't imagine he'd get the same as Coen. 

Also, the fact that it's UK would matter in this scenario too.

Being from Louisville he might want to get closer to home.   He has done a good job at Oregon and before that, at Texas-San Antonio.   His dad played football for UK.

If UK could offer him $1 million more than he makes, I'm sure he'd listen. But even with the expansion to 12 teams, making the playoff will be easier at Oregon than at Kentucky. And if he makes the playoff at Oregon he'll be in line for either a raise (negating the big UK difference) or a head coaching job (which will most certainly pay even more).

I think if we look historically, chasing a title isn't what it's about for assistant coaches in college football. It's all about moving up the ladder one rung at a time to become head coaches or about the money.  Some older assistants especially if they have prior ties to a school may hang around at the same school for years...but young guys aren't chasing titles they are chasing jobs and money.

I agree with @TheDeuce, they aren't going to pay him $1.8 right off the bat, but they definitely could give him a substantial raise over what is currently making.

I don't know if he's the guy they even want...so we'll have to see how it plays out.

I do, too.   That's one reason I said I questioned whether either party would be interested.
