Yes I think he went to a couple off season activities and saw the difference in the programs and what his role would probably be and decided to go back to Southern.

Peyton Smith junior RB and the top offensive player at Taylor County last season has moved to Lexington and is enrolled at Frederick Douglass. Smith rushed for over 1500 yards and scored 22 touchdowns in 12 games with Taylor County. He will be a nice addition to an already strong group of returning running backs for the Broncos.

Congratulations to Bronco Coach Nathan McPeek today he received a call from his alma mater Marshall University to inform him he will be inducted into the University's Hall of Fame. The ceremony will be held the weekend of September 27-28. Congratulations very well deserved coach!

Frederick Douglass Football is having their 8th Signing Day on Sunday at 1:00pm we are having our 8th for the class of 2028.

Below is the information that all districted players and their families receive.
Here is a pic of signing day card.
Here is what else 8th grade sees from Douglass.
This to me is the best promotion of Frederick Douglass Football.

Finally, directly from Coach MePeek to both 8th grade players and their parents/guardians.

Best player development program I've been around in 20 years of coaching. If you are willing to work, sacrifice, and live the core great things happen at Frederick Douglass Football. Proof is right there and enough said! @fdouglassfb

From Coach McPeek and Frederick Douglass Bronco Football.

He was the best running back I saw last year.  I don’t know what the Broncos have back but IMO Smith will be the main RB.

The 1st 5 are all returning.  Depth will be needed for an extended playoff run.

Freddie D always has depth - I'm just rolling with Smith to have well over 1,000 yards.  He's about 5-11 and 200+.  He is very elusive, shifty, and quick.  If you don't lock him down early, he will leave you in the dust.

Combine that type of player with the type of team and line Freddie D has - I can't wait to watch him succeed.  Hate it for Taylor County, but he's going to be huge at Freddie D.
