Final a great game and a good win for this young Kentucky team.

Glad to finally win one of these made for TV match-ups. Seems like we've lost a lot of these type games the last few seasons.

That was the grind it out type of win this team needs to have under their belt!

Nice win by the Cats, pretty much everyone contributed.

Some highs and lows but at the end of the night, CATS win!!!!

Here's my point on why it's players not coaching the last few minutes of a game.

Cal calls a good in bounds play, gets Sheppard in to pass the ball in, play executed well and Mitchell shoots an air ball. You can set up a perfect play but players have to make the play and the shot. It's the players more than the coach.

Big takeaways the Cats made up for a off shooting night (some by bad shots) by playing hard on the defensive end causing 17 turnovers and having 9 blocks. The Cats also controlled the boards winning by 11. I also thought that all 4 guys off the bench gave good minutes Sheppard just does stuff all across the game on both ends that don't show up in the stats. I feel a lot better with him on the floor down the stretch.

Now no letdowns on Thursday at Louisville like we had after the good win over Miami.

I agree totally but there have been times he don't run a special play. Coaching move was calling the timeout which I am sure he called it to get Sheppard in the game. That was a good move I would have put him in two possessions before, but that was a good move. I will be waiting for @nikeman49to post praising Cal on that move. ?

Good point on the blocks. Those bigs are making a difference. And Theiro is balling. 

I think the more Aaron Bradshaw plays the better he is going to get. His number today in only 21 minutes due to foul issues were:

4-6 from the field 1-1 from 3 and 3-5 from the line. He had 3 rebound and 2 steals. I would like to see his rebound numbers improve.

Yes, he is living up to his billing. Most talented big man at UK in quite a while.

What a day!

Agreed, everyone contributed but it wasn't a GREAT game for Kentucky which is kind of satisfying in its own right.  

I know a lot of us die hard we're saying this team is going to get much better when our bigs are healthy and I think that's been absolutely the case.  Bradshaw has been great, Onyenso made an impact but collectively, they take the load off of the other guys. Kentucky suddenly has a very deep and talented bench.

Not that it matters, but how about the refs stopping the game to look for and I quote, "a flagrant 1, possibly a flagrant 2" on Thiero when he literally just stopped and slipped under the basket in transation defense.  That was terrible.

I know Louisville is struggling, but I don't think we have to worry about this team not taking that game serious.
