Yes individual award, but I think playoff performance definitely should be factored in. A big reason for that IMO is validation of stats. A player can face weak competition and rack up big numbers. When we see that player perform in late round playoff games it is a chance to validate those numbers. Daniel Thomas this year is a great example of that for me.

I can agree with that. I do believe Wood left that game with an injury and it wasn’t a blow out at the time. I do believe it should be factored as well. I don’t believe it makes up for lack of stats.

Also, if I remember correctly, he was not initially found to be eligible and therefore had to sit out his entire junior year at Trinity.   That absence had to have hurt his recognition factor among the Mr. Football voters.......not saying it caused him to lose the award but certainly didn't help, either.

In 2016 Walker Wood was our All BGP QB but Jamale Carothers was our player of the year.

He was declared eligible on appeal and played both his Junior and Senior years at T

Per the article you cited, he did not become eligible until the second playoff game of his junior year.
