February 21, 200719 yr Just had a little excitement with a baby zebra at the pond. He and Mom were drinking away, until Mom turns and starts to walk away. Baby starts to go with her, but gets distracted by something on the ground at the edge of the water. He digs around on the dirt for several minutes. Finished with his digging, he looks up and suddenly realizes Mom is gone! He turns around and bolts off diagonally toward the woods in full gallop. Baby ran several hundred yards and then stopped. He looked around -- turned one way, and then the other. He couldn't find Mom anywhere and started to panic. He pawed at the ground and looked every which way. Finally, he just stood there looking lost. All of a sudden he spies Mom about a hundred yards over to the left. He goes flying over there, and we have a happy reunion! After that, he stayed glued to her side. They walked over to another adult zebra, and the three of them wandered off into the woods. I think I've been staring at this thing way too long!

February 24, 200719 yr That was an awesome rhino fight! One male came wandering in with a female and two babies. Then another big rhino showed up...and it was on! I understand that this lone rhino has been tagging after this family the last several days. I think he finally got shown the road. The victorious male came back and joined the family, who had been drinking at the pond through the whole fight. He stood with his back to them for a while, then they all wandered off into the woods together. A few minutes later, here came the loser...still on their trail. Never give up!
