Baltimore's man at the hot corner for 22 years.  He was a 2 time WS champion (1966, 1970), 18 time all star, 16 time gold glover, AL MVP, All - Star MVP and WS MVP (1970).   Flat out the best defensive third baseman to ever play.

I still have nightmares regarding this play.....Brooks absolutely killed it in the 1970 World Series to beat my Reds!

He pretty much beat the Reds in the 1970 World Series. He was amazing. RIP

My boyhood idol.  Along with Johnny U, the embodiment of sports in Baltimore when I was growing up.

Be was a huge thorn in the Reds side in the 1970 World Series. He was one of the reasons they lost, along with a superb Orioles pitching staff.

Jim Palmer, Mike Cuellar (former Red) and Dave McNally would make an excellent staff even today.

The Orioles had another former Reds player, Frank Robinson. Cincinnati traded him for reasons I never knew and he proceeded to lead Baltimore to the 1966 World Series championship and also won the Triple Crown. And of course he was important in their 1970 championship as well. That had to be one of the worst trades in MLB history.

Brooks broke my young heart in 1970.  May he rest in peace.

Undoubtedly the finest third baseman I have ever seen play the game.

His 1970 World Series was incredible.

Was over 50 years ago and I remember it like it happened yesterday.
