3A #7(BGP/CJ) Hart County looks to end the series shutout at Elizabethtown

Team Records: Hart 3-0 | Elizabethtown 0-3

Overall Series Record: Elizabethtown leads 5-0

Pressing Narrative: Hart County is returning most of its roster from the 2022 season where the team posted its first playoff win in school history behind what is likely the best roster ever assembled there. Elizabethtown is returning an experienced roster with a few missing starters at QB and WR. The Team is also led by interim Head Coach Alfredo Silva after losing Head Coach Ross Brown to Desales back in June. How will these teams matchup? Will home field advantage elevate the Panthers to a 6th straight win over the Raiders?

Stats for each team through 3 games: Hart County is being led on offense by a 100 rush yards per-game performance by Senior #9 Clark Rexroat, as well as 3 Rushing Touchdowns by Senior #2 JD Crump. Sophomore #15 Jacob Shoulders is 9-13 Passing with 201 Passing Yards and 2 Touchdowns. Senior #39 Jaxson Shoulders leads the team in receiving with 5 catches for 120 yards. Senior #5 Konner Walters and Junior #1 Kohnner Trent each have a receiving Touchdown.

Defensively Junior #6 Kyle Rutledge has a forced fumble recovered by Senior #9 Clark Rexroat. The team is led in tackles by Junior #22 Brenan Griffin and Senior #42 AD Milby each with 42, followed closely by Senior #39 Jaxson Shoulders with 41. Senior #42 AD Milby leads the Raiders with 5 TFLs, while Senior #2 JD Crump leads the team in sacks with 4. Four Raiders have an interception with one returned for a touchdown by Junior #1 Kohnner Trent.

Elizabethtown is being led on offense by Senior Dual-Threat QB #8 Greyson Hainer going 21-51 through the air for 273 yards and 1 Touchdown. Hainer also leads the team in rushing yards with 150. Senior #2 Trey Durbin leads the team in Rushing Touchdowns with 3. On the receiving end the team is led by Junior #3 JQuan Williams with 10 catches for 122 yards. Junior #2 Trey Durbin has the sole receiving Touchdown.

On Defense, Senior #55 Carter Moberly has the sole fumble recovery while Senior #2 Trey Durbin leads the team in tackles with 19. Durbin also leads the team in TFLs with 7 along with a sack. Senior #8 Alex Evans also has a sack. Senior #5 Tyrin Jurnett leads the team with 2 Interceptions.

Hart County should win this game. Etown has to get better offensively in a hurry. I think Etown plays better but not good enough. Hart - 35 Etown - 20

I don't know much about these teams, but I saw Hart County about 2 years ago at the Central Hardin 7v7 tournament and remember being impressed as I was told they had a really young squad back then.  I guess this is the reward from playing those guys alot back then.

I'll go with Hart County in this one.  Good luck to both teams!

Yes this is the same Hart County squad that won the schools first Middle School conference title back in I believe the 2018 season maybe 2019. Lots of depth and experience with this squad.

Looking at the results, and this needs to be a game where Hart makes a statement if they are legit.

Etown does not appear to be very good.

Anything less than a 3-4 TD victory means Hart still has some proving left to do.

2 Key notes about this post and this game. Etown lost every offensive lineman they had from last season and a couple of those played both ways. That is much more of an issue than the WR and QB. They have no time to get plays off. Most of Hart's team is made up of 5th year seniors as almost the entire class took advantage of the covid year.

I agree that this needs to be a statement game from Hart. If they don't dominate this game then they aren't as good as advertised.

Thanks for adding this! I didn’t realize how many O-linemen graduated from E-town.

Elizabethtown will be 0-5 after 5 games into the 2023 season. Maybe it was a mistake not to find a permanent coach for the 2023 season to guide and begin to build this program back to relevance in 3A?

For whatever reason I was checking out latest Hart County tape…. They are going to have a great year! Hart by 21

Hart by 4/5 scores.

Probably right about the record but I wouldn't put Bardstown over them just yet. They are on the struggle bus as well. Their 1 win is over Thomas Nelson and they are about to get wrecked by Ashland tomorrow night.

As far as the coaching situation...When the existing HC doesn't notify the school system he is leaving until Mid June, finding a new HC from outside the program becomes pretty difficult at that point. Most quality coaches are already settled in and aren't going to leave their existing program at that point. My understanding is they only got a few applications and a couple of those were existing assistant coaches.

So they made the decision to go with someone on staff and make it an Interim title while making it known that the position would be opened up after this season regardless of how good or bad the season went.

Unfortunately, the next couple years may be worse than this one. Not a ton of talent coming through. The middle school has a good group of 7th and 8th graders but it will obviously be a couple years before any of those kids will make an impact.

I don’t think it will be that bad Hart didn’t beat up on Spencer that bad and then and Elizabethtown seem pretty similar.

Agree that Bardstown is on the struggle bus.
