When was the last time these two teams played? Looking on the khsaa scoreboard dating back to 1998 they haven’t played each other.

I’m interested to see how Beechwood who I have been told is considerably smaller than in recent years handles a bigger school with way more depth. I wasn’t impressed by the defensive showing in game 1 as there were some huge running lanes. I know with the new coach it’s gonna be an adjustment but I was confused why they kept switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and then back. Didn’t seem to know what look to run when.

This is the story for Beechwood this year. The transition of the defense to Coach Volker. The offense has virtually everyone back from last year's playoff run to title 17. The Tigers will be very capable of putting points on the board. If the defense transitions well to the Volker defense, Beechwood will be right there in the hunt for another title.

I agree they’re offense is going to carry the Tigers and that it’s going to take time for the defense to come around with the new system and basically all new starters.  Dolphins though is missing quite a few starters Torn OShea TE, Austin Waddell (can’t replace on either side of the ball), Huljak (center), Liam McCormick their best wide receiver, Antonio Robinson D1 recruit, Mitchell Berger all WORLD, Landon Aylor ath,  Landon Johnson FB. So I wouldn’t really say all starters returning but they do have a lot of skill players that are very talented to fill in spots. Just not a ton of experience at the varsity level. But you know that Coach Hergett will have that Offense clicking on all cylinders.

What’s the likely hood this one kicks off on time? The field is full sun almost all day.
