Final.  Former standout Lincoln Co. QB and assistant coach Levi Rogers leads the Rebels in his first game as a head coach on the road to win at Death Valley. 

Noted in the game thread that I didn't expect this outcome.  Nice win for Rogers' squad.

The Rebels hold Lincoln to under 100 yards on the ground.  Casey's defense was much improved against the run and they were putting pressure on Horton most of the night.  Evan Stephens had a good night running the ball on the other side of the ball, and was the vast majority of Casey's total offense.  It wasn't a pretty win, but it was a good win for Coach Rogers to get for his first win as a head coach. 

To me the Casey County defensive line was the biggest difference in this one.

Casey has 3 wins in the series.  The last 3 times the teams have played. 

I thought Lincolns D was pretty tight, but their offense seemed to be looking for an identity.  Never seemed to have any rhythm.  As Newark alluded to, that might have been because of Casey's defense. 

Lincoln County's offense was terrible tonight, I have no idea what they was calling. It might make some people mad but both of those teams aren't very good. 

I was told one, if not Lincoln County better ones offensive weapon broke his foot last week and the offense had not recovered.

Despite being an assistant coach at Lincoln County for a decade and a standout QB for the Patriots in high school, Rogers was spurned when the Head Coach job came open two years ago as he did not receive so much as an interview. Glad to see him come back and get a win against his alma mater on the newly minted turf. This one has to be extra special. Hats off to the Casey County Rebels who controlled the line of scrimmage and were the better football team.

I don’t totally disagree, but one team is in rebuild while the other has several returners.  Lincoln looked disorganized and out of shape. 

 

 

 

 

Levi Rogers remains undefeated at Casey County! This has to be some type of record!

Defense some will swear, while others will cry the offenses stunk. Either way, you want to twist it Casey County posted the win in the Death Valley bowl over the host team Lincoln County by the score 10-6. Lincoln County was held to a total of 166 yards on 52 plays, with Sawyer accounting for 108 of them.

Levi had his team ready to play, and he make moves like a chess master, working the clock and keeping the momentum.

Not sure which one would be in a rebound. Both teams returned a lot of starters. Casey was the better team due to organization and play calling. Lincoln didn't make any adjustments defensively and was all over the place offensively. Lincoln will have to find something they are good at and build upon it. It could be a long year for Lincoln.
