I wonder how much Lafayette has improved, last year they only had one game where they score more than 1 TD, and in that game they lost 27-47. But they have now won their last 2 scrimmages 55-0 and 42-0. Things might finally be turning up for them after a really rough stretch over the last few years.

Lafayette will be much improved this year, defense played solid all game. Danville might be in for a very very long season. I think the final score was 56-0 with Lafayette JV scoring the final 2 TDs.

I’m really impressed with Lawson and his staff. They coach these kids hard and have them playing with a lot of confidence. This years schedule is much more manageable and they’ll have an opportunity to turn things around. 

I’ve been impressed with their D in both scrimmages. They threw the ball better in tonight’s scrimmage as well.  Lawson has them playing with a lot of confidence. 

A scrimmage is definitely not a game, but woof....that REALLY has to be disappointing for Danville. 

Lafayette has a bunch of new young coaches that have really made a difference.

Since I have grandchildren at Lafayette I am excited to see them rebounding from a horrific season a year ago.  Good luck Generals.

I was really surprised at how lopsided it was. I know being 2A they don’t have the numbers Lafayette does so I thought they might wear down, but they were pretty much outmatched at every position. Dez Hanley for Lafayette is going to give some teams problems this season.

Loving what I’m seeing from Lawson and his staff! The difference between this season and two years ago is night and day. Looks like the players are buying in. 

What were Danville's numbers like for this game (since I didn't attend)?  I know there were concerns expressed a month ago that they may not have enough players to survive a full season if people got hurt.

They had a couple of injuries last night too. Not sure how serious though. I know an ambulance showed up after one of the players was hurt but not certain that they took him or if it was there for something/someone else not related to his injury. 

Danville in for very long season.
