Harrison County unveiled renderings of their new gymnasium on Tuesday. The gym is expected to seat over 3,500 fans. The gym will accompany the new high school expected to open in the fall of 2026.

KHSAA says 3,200. But Montgomery County’s arena can hold 4,200.  The 3,500 is just an estimate right now but I assume the new gym will be at 4,000. 

As the article points out, it appears Harrison County is very interested in hosting regional tournaments, especially basketball. The 10th Region traditionally rotates by district and with Nicholas County, Pendleton County, and Robertson County in the district with Harrison, I suspect the region will be in Cynthiana every four years for quite some time.

I have always liked Harrison's Gym.  Years ago it hosted the 10th Region Tournament most years.

Harrison County hosted the 10th Region tournament in 1951 and 1952, then ever hear from 1954-64. Definitely been a few years. 

How old is the current gym? I’m assuming late 40’s-early 50’s.
