Per the 10thregion Instagram page, the two brothers have been ruled eligible for this upcoming season.

While I am fine with the decision and I think it is the correct one. I have to ask what grounds were used to determine eligibility on appeal. I have read the bylaws for transfers and have seen how it has been applied to others and I am surprised at this one. 

Basically if a kid lives in one county and establishes his/her varsity clock in another county and then decides to transfer to a school within the county he/she resides, they’re good to go without penalty? Is this pretty much the case? 

That would make sense. It poses the question, Should all players start their freshman seasons out of county to allow for a transfer opportunity back to your home school without penalty.

They changed addresses. 

Will the brothers give Mason enough lift to challenge Clark for the regional title? I’m not from that region, so just inquiring.

The 10th appears at this point to be somewhat wide open.  The Reeds should have Mason in the hunt.

Maybe I've missed this question posed in the thread, and if so I apologize, but how differently will Coach Kirk have them playing this year?  I can't imagine the way they played for their dad, both the Greenest of Green lights, as well as the nonsense with officials and the other team, will be tolerated.  Can they adjust?  Does Brian (Kirk) adjust a little and loosen up their reins (seems unlikely)?   I think how they adapt to playing for him is one of the real interesting sub-stories here.

Mason will absolutely loaded at the guard spot with Blake and Cayden, Carter McClanahan, and Brayden Hamilton.  Jake Feldhaus (Deron's son) has grown since last season which will help on the inside.  The Royals will be a heavy contender to make it to Rupp.

Yeah, I also have has those same thoughts.  There will have to be some adjustments by both sides.  The Reed kids will have to show more maturity, which hopefully they will and Kirk will have to design some scoring opportunities for them.  Mason lost the majority of their points from last year.  To say the least, it will be very interesting to see how this turns out.

Its comical anything to do with how the KHSAA applies and interprets their own rules. For instance, I'm from the 13th region, we had a player transfer from Knox Central to North Laurel--never moved no physical change of address other than a postal address change(didn't move). Now after the superteam has graduated that young man goes back to Knox and crickets from Khsaa. Also now a youngman has transferred from North Laurel to South under the same circumstances and the Khsaa has ruled him ineligible awaiting appeal(from what I've heard). Same region a kid transfers from Wburg to Corbin same circumstances and again crickets. Same with multiple kids....I would love to know how the rules change from day to day and kid to kid. Its not a level playing field for any kid within the state when it comes to the Khsaa.....just my opinion.

As I've said before, the Reeds have lived in the same house for many years within a stones throw of Mason County High School.  With all of the other transfers going on all over the state for all kinds of ridiculous reasons, it just doesn't make any sense to me that they would have to appeal going to their home high school.  I've been told on here that's not how the KHSAA transfer rules work but I still say its unreasonable.  All of the Mason County fans I've talked to are happy to have Blake and Cayden home.
