On the flip side of that argument, why should Boston College get the same amount of money as Clemson when Clemson's football team draws the eyes and earns more money for making the CFP?

I think I agree with your flip side logic but with the new "equity world" we live in BC has to get the money so the powers that be can eventually give equal amounts to women's sports, deserved or not.

I will admit that there is no good answer to any of this.  Fact is that it hasn't been about actual competition for quite a few decades now.   It's all about money.

There are certain funds that should be distributed equally, sure. But if Clemson (or Louisville, or BC, or anybody) makes the CFP, that school should get the money, not everyone else.

I agree with some type of hybrid system. 

If the GOR is ironclad and can't be broken, I'd tell those 7 schools to pound sand. They can renegotiate their deal when the current contracts expire in 13 years.

If they are going to give in then my idea on how to split it would be...

Equal split on Conference TV deals across all schools.

Bowl Money and NCAA Tournament Teams split 50% to bowl/tournament team and 50% to pool to be divided between all teams.

I've pretty much always sided with this stance. TV Revenue should be divided equally. No issues with that. It is a signed and agreed upon number by all members. 

But tournament credits / CFP / bowl payouts and any additional revenue brought in from the success of certain programs should go directly to those programs. 

If an institution isn't willing to make the same investments in athletic programs as other conference members, why should they receive additional revenue generated by those who have?
