I wonder how many turnovers Utter was charged with, I'm guessing he contributed mightly to the SK lost and again tonight.

Utter 4 and Roberts 4 turnovers each for the game unofficially for each PG. Grant only had about 10 for the game which I thought was rather low.  Grant will struggle losing 4 seniors as most would expect. 

The Fox kid not playing  really hurt Grant.  He is another ball handler, defender and 2 year starter. Fischer for North had an outstanding game.  
 

Grant county is does not have tons of athletes.  The program goes through cycles about every 3 years the have a solid team. I would expect them to struggle next year.  

Utter made up for his turnovers with his defense on Dallas Roberts, it just seemed like most of Grant’s TO’s came in the crucial 4th Q. 

North switching to zone late in fourth really threw Grant off offensively. Kudos to North coach for his adjustment. Also, Grant doesn’t call a timeout with the ball in a two possession game with a minute left to set up a play. Big mistake.

Bingo. And fired terrible three after three. There was a ton of time left and didn’t need it. A TO wouldn’t have just set up a play it would have set up a strategy…

Tough finish for the 8th Region coach of the year. 43 points isn’t going to win to many games. 

As a fan of Grant County very tough one.    GC bench was not deep and a starter out was even tougher.  Looked like Hammonds got hurt the first minute of the game as well.  The interior game was a war and refs let them beat each other all night. Very proud of this GC team, coaches, and community.  Grant county fans traveled well all year. Good luck to North.

Did they have TOs to use?  Sometimes kids just freak out, and start chucking too early.

I’ve watched Grant all year. Special group of kids. Good, respectful kids that play hard. So close to knocking off top team in the region. Put Fox in that game and the outcome would have been different.  Breeden will turn it on next year. He’s gonna need some help but that kid is good!

Agreed. They needed to score more and from what I understand that kid isn’t a scorer.

But somehow you are super confident that a contributor who missed a game that was a 2 points spread with 2:00 to to go would have made no difference in a game in doubt throughout.

Um I would say Johnson was just as good as Moore. If you truly know basketball, he was by far the best player on the floor. 

Johnson had 3 Division 1 athletes as teammates, he is never going to have Teagan Moore stats, but he is better at the game of basketball. 

Anyways, the missing starter could've had some affect on the outcome, but I am not sure where. He is a great defender, but who would he have guarded? If it was going to be Roberts, I do not think that he could've done any better then Utter did. In my many times of watching them this year he has never imposed himself as a scoring threat, so where would he impact the game?
