Johnson is the best player in the 8th region. He is not relied on to do as much. Woodford does not try to get him shots at all, and everything he gets is for himself. He is the smoothest/most impressive player in every game he plays. He will be a Starting PG for a Power 5 conference one day as long as he keeps working... Unreal athlete/skill.

Grant needed someone to score the ball, and Fox does not provide that.

But somehow you are super confident that a contributor who missed a game that was a 2 points spread with 2:00 to to go would have made no difference in a game in doubt throughout. 

I enjoyed watching Grant County this year. They have been a pretty good program for the last four years.  A 2 year starter would have definitely helped.  Fox kid did a lot of the intangibles that get overlooked and handled the ball a lot.  Grant will struggle next year and will be very inexperienced.  Spencer Breeden for Grant is definitely a top 12 player in the region.  He will carry the load for them next year.  I also think North drops after this year.  They have a huge senior class that has lead the way. 

How about Grant, down 5 with around 45-50 seconds to go, and they are jacking volleyball line 3´s???

Yes, multiple times. Not sure on the reasoning behind that. There was still plenty of time left in that game with them only being 2 possessions down.

Just as good is a far cry from “outshine”. And the missing kid might have made no difference at all- or might have helped. Taking the liberty to edit 4 quarters “outcome would be same” comment, it would read something like this. “I think outcome might have been the same, but to be fair nothing I predicted on day one happened, so you never know!”  

A few stats from the KHSAA stats from last night's game that jumped out:

Grant County was 2/19 from three (!!) and 9/11 from the line

North Oldham was 2/8 from three and 7/16 from the line (!!)

Not relied on to do as much?  Why because they were so amazing all year?  Woodford had a 500 record most of season and really struggled at times. What would cause a coach to not “rely on” this generational talent you speak of?

He is a top 20 ranked player for a reason. He is able to do things on the court that nobody in the Region is able to do. IMO Woodford is selfish. Woodfords coach is not a great coach, and does NOTHING to get him the ball.

Ok you have touched a nerve with me here:

JJ was the best player on the floor based on what?  He scored whatever he did vs guys that he was way more athletic then, not getting double teamed all night because Woodford has athletes and scorers in almost every position. 

Teegan dropped an EFFICIENT 30+ being quad-rouple teamed by big long tall athletes.   Teegan doesn’t have one other kid on his team that would play minutes for Woodford.  

If you wanna say JJ has more potential, maybe; that remains to be seen.  ESPN and Rivals sure think so.  He seems to skyrocket up the ratings no matter what he does (10 points agains Collins in District final.  11 points in a 20 point butt whooping  vs Evangel getting checked by elite athletes…whoo hoo, skip college all together, make him the first pick in the draft!!)

The best player on the floor was Teegan last night and it wasn’t even close.  He is better right now than Johnson by a mile.  

Have them change teams.  Put Teegan on Woodford and JJ on Owen.  You think JJ gets an EFFICIENT 30 with Woodfords athletes chasing and doubling him all night!?!?  Not a chance

Agreed on all counts. Top 20 ranking- lots of social media momentum. It’s a real thing and has huge impact.  Doesn’t mean he’s not excellent.  Jasper- love his game. He is very smooth. Great floater. Awesome rotation on jumper. Length and athleticism. That being said- being the best player on the court every game, as implied, and being 500 on season when there are some other nice experiences parts, means overall, he had an average high school year based on his talent. Yes- coach is not good. But Jasper barely met expectations this season- no way he exceeded them.

There are plays ran for Moore to get good post looks and plays ran for him to get open shots. Not to mention he normally takes at least 1 shot per possession. Stats are not posted for the game, and I don't expect them to ever be. But, I would love to see his FG% in this game. 

Johnson creates every look of his on his own. WC's entire offense is just continuous dribbling trying to find lanes and either finish at the rim or find the open guy for 3. You said it yourself, he is more athletic than everyone on the court. So why don't we down credit Moore for being bigger and stronger than almost everyone he plays against? 

Like I said, Moore has one of the best careers (statistic wise) in regional history, but go watch them play. Like I have said many times before, the eye test is the greatest test when comparing players. Based off the eye test, Johnson shines over Moore.

LOL, 2 things; he missed many games this year due to injury (6 I believe?), and strength of schedule.
