Woodford County 55 Owen County 50 (8th Region Quarterfinals)
I don’t see how anyone can look at any of my posts and say I am only taking one game into account. I’ve listed Stats, common opponents, head to head, etc etc. Real Tangible things. You have listed “your opinion” try this; player a is asked to do more than player b, has a much more difficult time doing what he is asked to do because of the lack of talent around him, and does what he is asked to do at a more efficient rate than player b. player b is asked to do less than player a, has an easier time doing that he is asked to do because he has more talent around him, and does so at a less efficient rate than player a Who is the better player? Its not as hard as you are making it out to be.

Moore outperformed JJ in the head to head matchups with common opponents and it wasn’t particularly close. Check out Collins Evangel Spencer Shelby Anderson. Woj speaks with a lot of certainty, but I don’t think he has been triple teamed, or taken a guy one on one when the other 4 players on your team have to be respected. Basketball players know which situation is easier to look good/score/finish. And despite the triple teams and opponents game planning to take him away, Teegan gets buckets, and does so at a 63% shooting clip!!! For goodness sakes, Moore was being guarded by a D1 football player with weak side help from a D1 basketball commit. Mr. 5⭐️ Johnson was being guarded by a 5’10” kid that won’t be the best player on his college intramural team one day. Woj might secretly be Paul Biancardi. All stars and potential. Meanwhile the actual performance is something else. Moore averages 10 points per game more than JJ, outshoots him by 12% from the field, better % from 3, out shoots him from the foul line, and out rebounds him by 7, all while being triple teamed. This isn’t even an argument. Moore is the better player by a mile, and was the better player last night AND IT ain't EVEN CLOSE!!

I get what you are saying but you are going on potential not on performance.

Woj did you watch the game? Owens coach runs plays for Teegan, ok how many open looks did he get? Lemme answer for you…zero. He scored 1 on 5 all night. Hard for me to believe that anyone that “really knows basketball” could say JJ was the better player last night. (You went there…)- North Oldham 51 Grant County 43 (8th Region 1st Round)
Best player on the floor every game he has played ??? Doeer dropped 28 on him. Tilley 21. It’s easy to buy into the hype, the numbers tell a different story.- North Oldham 51 Grant County 43 (8th Region 1st Round)
Ok you have touched a nerve with me here: JJ was the best player on the floor based on what? He scored whatever he did vs guys that he was way more athletic then, not getting double teamed all night because Woodford has athletes and scorers in almost every position. Teegan dropped an EFFICIENT 30+ being quad-rouple teamed by big long tall athletes. Teegan doesn’t have one other kid on his team that would play minutes for Woodford. If you wanna say JJ has more potential, maybe; that remains to be seen. ESPN and Rivals sure think so. He seems to skyrocket up the ratings no matter what he does (10 points agains Collins in District final. 11 points in a 20 point butt whooping vs Evangel getting checked by elite athletes…whoo hoo, skip college all together, make him the first pick in the draft!!) The best player on the floor was Teegan last night and it wasn’t even close. He is better right now than Johnson by a mile. Have them change teams. Put Teegan on Woodford and JJ on Owen. You think JJ gets an EFFICIENT 30 with Woodfords athletes chasing and doubling him all night!?!? Not a chance- Woodford County 55 Owen County 50 (8th Region Quarterfinals)
Yes I edited that. I don’t think I’m saying anything controversial here, the strategy Owen coach employed didn’t work out. Tried to rest Teegan and gave up a 4-0 run and all the momentum to Woodford. Call timeout after the FT’s to rest him. Call TO’s during Woodfords run to set up a play/stop momentum. Aftet the game the boxing term “game loser” popped in my mind. That’s a fighter that shows up, fights hard, but is never believes he is gonna win. The way Owen coached and played the 4th seemed like a “game loser” mentality. Once Woodford started to make their run, Owen knew they weren’t gonna win..- Woodford County 55 Owen County 50 (8th Region Quarterfinals)
Go to the Glicod broadcast, he hits two ft’s to put Owen up 12, 7:43 left in 4th and gets subbed out. Woodford gets two buckets before you can blink an eye, and Owen calls timeout. Then Teegan is back in after the timeout. Foul trouble or no foul trouble, you can’t take him out. Had to be in there to help break the press. (And just for the record they weren’t pulling him for foul trouble they were pulling him for a breather.) And per my previous post, Owen ends the game with two uncalled timeouts. If you need to rest him call timeout. Huge mistake by Owen coach. H U G E- North Oldham 51 Grant County 43 (8th Region 1st Round)
Hack-a-Higdon or Hack-an-Anderson would’ve been nice to try..- Woodford County 55 Owen County 50 (8th Region Quarterfinals)
Start of 4th, Owen coach pulls Teegan up 12 instead of calling a timeout. In 30 seconds two steals and layups by Woodford, 8 point game, then Owen coach calls timeout. Also worth noting, Owen coach takes two uncalled timeouts into the postseason with him. Zero business pulling Teegan at that point. Call your timeouts to rest him. Congrats on blowing the game..- North Oldham 51 Grant County 43 (8th Region 1st Round)
Fisher followed a performance where he didn’t miss a shot in the district championship with another gem tonight, where he made tough, under control drives/finishes all night. Kudos to a tough kid who is excelling when it matters most!- 8th Region Draw
That’s two competitive games…- 8th Region Draw
That’s one competitive game….- 8th Region Draw
One returning starter (Green), Amburgey a two sport kid that averaged 6 points per game as a junior… New coach, the Z pressure D/intimidation replaced by a trapping matchup zone. Season performance has been about average based on those factors.- 8th Region Draw
North/Grant was a 6 point game first time. Teegan will leave it all on the floor vs Woodford. He could go for 40 and win. SK won at Oldham during the season, but it was a 5 point game with 2:00 to go, and Oldham rimmed out a 3. Gallatin/Collins the biggest mismatch in round 1?- 8th Region Draw
How?- 8th Region Draw
I guess we’ll see! They drew Grant round 1, Hammonds could get 45 and beat them. They get Woodford round 2 who will be chomping at the bit to avenge last year..- 8th Region Draw
Perhaps Mojocat could elaborate as to which of these performances were North Oldham’s best that sets them apart from everyone else in the region? To that point have we even seen Woodfords best? Would be nice to see a tourney where every team only played their best. Doesn’t happen. Don’t think for a second North wouldn’t prefer the district championships went chalk.- North Oldham 51 Collins 39
My North Collins Regional Finals preview: Play zone like in the 4th last night, make anyone other than Kenyon beat you. Offensive end more focus on getting it down low. Gaither does an amazing job exploiting his teams strengths and hiding his teams weaknesses, but his roster has nowhere near the depth and talent of North. I would not anticipate the next game being as close as this one…if there is a next game! They have to win 2 games to even get out of district!!- North Oldham vs. Collins Predictions/Updates
North by double digits. Collins can handle one big but not two. Anderson 25 and 12 or some similar variation thereof..- Trinity 47 Collins 45
And that is a solid response, not “he’s a class act.” I 100% disagree of course that he doesn’t have offensive firepower. And he obviously believes ball control is the best way to win.- Trinity 47 Collins 45
A true defender of Sczabo would defend his offense, why he is right to do what he is doing. The numbers are the numbers, he is slowing it down and playing ball control. It is what it is.- Trinity 47 Collins 45
Ok, so this year the Vassar kid came over from J-Town, and the Johnson kid came from Male. I’m not sure what to call that. A most fortunate coincidence… - North Oldham 51 Grant County 43 (8th Region 1st Round)
