My final view point on this Moore vs Johnson argument: Jasper Johnson is 100% the better basketball player. He is currently, will be his junior year, and his senior year. He will also be light ye

  • So, if he leaves him in with foul trouble and he fouls out at the beginning of 4th Q what's the narrative about the coach?  I don't know the coach/program from adam and apple, but seems like he's in a

Then I stand corrected!  Thanks. That 4-0 was a game changer though. Completely rattled Owen and shifted the momentum.

Tough stretch for Devin Duvall with some of the best basketball players in the state. In former Mr. Basketball Carson Williams 4-year stretch for the Rebels they won just 1 regional game.

In Teagan Moore's 4-year stretch they did not win a single game. Not to mention having a 15 point lead tonight in the 3rd quarter against Woodford County.

Start of 4th, Owen coach pulls Teegan up 12 instead of calling a timeout.  In 30 seconds two steals and layups by Woodford, 8 point game, then Owen coach calls timeout.  Also worth noting, Owen coach takes two uncalled timeouts into the postseason with him.

Zero business pulling Teegan at that point.  Call your timeouts to rest him.  Congrats on blowing the game..

Some more stats in Teagan Moore's stretch, just 1 district title and only 1 All 'A' Regional title.

This is not taking away from Moore's great stretch as a Rebel, one of hte greatest careers stat wise in regional history. Just looking at Coach Duvall's records with a former Mr. Basketball and then one of the top-5 players in the state.

This is true. If he needed a rest use a TO. Instead you give up 4 points, rattle your team, and…..use a TO?  Sorry to say the O in Owen stands for over coaching and over thinking…

I love Owen County and Teagan Moore. But, seriously? Losing to a weak Gallatin group, then blowing a 15-point lead in the 3rd quarter of a regional game? Coach D has to go man...

I think maybe him having 4 fouls affected this decision as well.

Unreal. Potential Mr. Basketball Candidate/2-Time Region POY, and you only win 1 District Title/All ¨A¨? 0 won regional games. Kudos to Teagan Moore, what an impressive player. I hope he succeeds at the next level. But, overall disappointed to call myself an OC fan...

Yes, picked it up early in the 3rd. Johnson had 4 for a long time as well, and McCrear picked up his 4th late in the 3rd quarter.

I do not think that is correct- you are saying tegan Moore got his 4th foul early in 3rd, so they sat him with 6 to go in the 4th. I don’t recall him getting in foul trouble but you may be right.

Moore had 4 fouls in the 3rd. In 27 seconds of game-time that Duvall pulled him, Woodford went on a 4-0 run.

Not saying that is the reason they sat him, but it might have been a factor in the decision.

This one, and the one earlier towards the end of the 3rd quarter when both Johnson and McCrear were out of the game. Huge boost for them to have some guys step up and shrink the lead with their 2 best players on the bench. This allowed the 2 rested guys to come in and close it out. Not a pretty game for WC, but they were very impressive down the stretch.
