I just picked the habit back up.

Started carrying one when I was like 10 years old, then quit after I started working as a law clerk and then as a paralegal to pay for college. It kept turning into a whole production when I'd forget it was in my pocket when I was going into to courthouses all the time. Once I got into working construction after I got my degree, I picked the habit right back up.

6 or 7 years ago I lost the knife I had been carrying for the better part of a decade, and for no particular reason, I just kinda didn't replace it. After I don't know how many occasions where I'd found myself frustrated over "daggone it, I used to always have a pocket knife for occasions when I need one like this," I went ahead and got one again. It's been a really good feeling pulling it out and using it the handful of times I have.

I carry one when I exercise outside and on occasion around town.

I was given one of these, a Case Executive, back in the late 00s as a groomsman gift. It replaced whatever el-cheapo I'd been carrying around at that time. These aren't all too expensive...$35 or $40. I don't know that the whole thing is even 1/4" thick, and it has a 2-1/2" blade, so it's really easy to carry around in your pocket without it being a hassle. Still bummed about losing it.




I just bought these two. I've always liked the look of trapper knives. I just bought these two by Case. The top one is their standard trapper, which is 4-1/4" long overall. I bought that exact model, which is carbon steel instead of stainless (carbon steel is a lot harder than stainless and keeps a good edge longer, but it will rust if you have a habit of getting it wet without wiping it off). The handle is jigged bone in "Peach Seed Dark Red". I also got a mini trapper, the one on the bottom, which is 3/4" shorter than the standard trapper. That one I got in their standard stainless surgical steel, and the jigged bone handle on that one is chestnut bone. I can't decide which one I like carrying in my pocket better.

I now own two different Leatherman Knives, the squirt which is a small, keychain sized multi-tool and a larger full size multi tool. I've also got a couple Buck folding knives, and a Spyderco Paramilitary knife. The only one I carry all the time is the small multi tool.

I've lost QUITE a few. That's why usually I only carried something cheap (and lose-able).

I only carry one when fishing, but there ae times especially when broadcasting that I wish that I had one - dealing with velcro, wire ties, etc..

I've carried one, Case Stockman, for MANY years.  

I always have a knife with me.  When I am on the farm, I carry one that has a blade and a hoof pick for the horses in case I am with the horses and suddenly need one.  Off the farm I carry a switch blade that also has a cord cutter and glass break tip.

The key to carrying a knife is to maintain the blade.

I always feel like it's such a hassle to find a time to sit down and sharpen my knife well, but then I actually love doing it one I sit down and get into the task itself.

The ones I carry are OTF and I love them. 

Never leave home without one. 

Mine is Klien Electrician pocket knife. It can strip several different wire and cable sizes. 

I use to everyday.  Actually, I need to get back to it.
