Scott County 73 Mason County 68

Royals could be #1 in the state if they would quit playing Scott as center!

At home games, Mason should also have their fans sit on both sides of the court so that the visiting team has to sit in the upper deck. That's what I call a real home floor advantage.

:thumb: Best quote of the night!! Evidently they aren't used to their visiting teams bringing a crowd or they just don't care. Great support for the royals, in a great game!

Only 1 side of the lower arena is reserved. Everything else is first come first serve.

Unless they match up again, this could easily be the best game of the year. Matt and Bud proved that they're not just hype, they can play ball. When they couldn't hit they found someone who could, they didn't ball hog and they became roll players. I am so proud of them.

This is why Scott Co. is #1. Also it helps alot if you have those other players that can step up when others are off.

Impressive that Scott Co won as poorly as Walls and Mackey shot the ball tonight. Neither one of them even hit a 3 tonight. They usually hit several.

Richie Phares, the big sophomore center played great as did Tyler Portwood.

Defensive pressure out on the perimeter generally is the reason for why neither of the two shot the ball well from the outside. This happened last night.

Great atmosphere for a high school basketball game and truly two great programs on the floor last night. The best part(outside of watching great basketball on the floor) about the night was getting to see and hear Coach Hicks work the officials.....every trip down the floor.

I think darius miller showed why he is the top player in the state while scott county showed why they were the number one TEAM in the state.

After seeing that game there is no doubt in my mind that Mason County can compete with the top teams in the state in any gym. When i was walking into the gym the first thing i saw was reserved seating and a Packed cheering section and thought this would be trouble.

Royals played hard but just could not get the baskets to fall that would give them the lead. The three pointer and free throws are what really hurt the royals (aslo passes thrown away by good double teams and traps.)

Mackey played good but Walls was awesome really hurt the Royals all through out the game. As for Darius Millers run for best player in the state goes, he might be. But Scott Co. has the best team and thats all that matters! Cant wait to see the rematch w/ Lex Cath this Friday at the Fieldhouse and im gonna take the Royals by 8.

I was just picking at you anyways.Ive always said ranking for talk.:thumb:

I understand :thumb: I would like to see Mason play a better schedule early in the season next year ....... Get into a classic or something with a game or two against few good out of state teams .... I think it would help lot later in the year ?? ..

Mason County has been invited to the Marshall County Hoopfest for next season ... I don't think the invite has been accepted yet.

Mason is getting the invite to lot ....... this year and next year but not sure why there not taking the game ??? Marshall County is great ..... The classic in Burbon is good ........ The classic in the Expo in Pikeville is getting bigger each year and I'm hearing some great games in the Expo next year ...........

Look for Mason's schedule to be top-notch next season as they showcase D. Miller as a senior. And I don't think this year's schedule is chopped liver.

Hope your right !!! Will see !! Not chopped liver but what help is it ??.....

Walls did a lot of things to help SC get this win, but Miller needs to be given credit for his defense. He started off on Walls and did a really nice job. When Mackey started to get rolling they switched Miller to him and Mackey had a tough time scoring. I knew his offense was really good, but I hadn't seen his tough D.

Not only were the fans out in full force, but there were several coaches there too - UK, Morehead, Kansas State, Mississippi State (Coach Stansbury himself was there), and Georgetown College were the ones I saw.

Great high school basketball game.

Congrats to Richie Phares 6'7 Soph. was 7/7 from the field. Played hard, rebounded, gave Scott Co. a big boost off the bench. Way to go Richie!

Note - his father went to Scott Co - he has lived here all his life:banana:

They might drive a Toyota, but I'm not sure :dancingpa

Great game and atmosphere. Scott Co. has a nice facility, could have used a couple of more exits for traffic after the game. For the game itself, Mason should have won if they could have hit their free throws and not forced bad passes in the opening quarter, though Scott Co.'s defense and intensity at the begining had alot to do with that. Wish the boys and girls would have sat at the same benches for both games, made sitting close to your cheering section a little difficult. Luckully, the Scott Co. fans I sat next to were first class!:ylsuper:
