They could be a really good team and not win a ton of games with this schedule.

Story of Engler’s career. Never win, but “dang good team.”

IMO, most wasted talent year in and year out is at Ryle HS.

Assuming you’re not just attempting to troll, I would be very interested in what metric you’re using to come up with that opinion. How does one measure “wasted talent”? Serious question.

Looking at all the talent they have year after year, not to mention the size they have, not sure the name of the young man this year, but boy was he a big guy, and it seems to always be that way. It is clear their coaching staff does a poor job.

And this isn’t just coming from me looking from afar, this is from football families of Ryle, who agree with me.

As far as measuring wasted talent, definitely a tough one to put my finger on, but I’d have to say, the Morgan’s, Chisholm’s, Ross’s, Bisek’s, Savage’s, England’s of the world, it’s quite a mystery of how they are not the top of NKY every year.

Engler has been mediocre since day one, blessed with talent, and done nothing with it. Like I asked earlier in this thread though, if that’s success for Ryle, that’s fine. At least the kids are having fun. And I see why they fired Warner, it’s all about having fun.

When would Ryle say enough is enough and go another direction?

They have a great ms program and do well at 7v7. Don’t know what the issue is.

I wouldn't disagree the coaching has opportunities that would improve the team and their situation. That being said Ryle is playing 6A and none of the NKY teams would be threatening for the state championship on a consistent basis anymore than the Raiders do. When you look at how the Raiders do in NKY they are always in the hunt for the top spot in their district and have a lot of success against most of the NKY teams not named Cov Cath and mixed results with Highlands. They also year in and year out play one of the toughest schedules as the philosophy of the staff to play a tough schedule to try to be better prepared for the playoffs right or wrong.

As far as wasted talent those mentioned above Morgan (NFL, USFL), Chisholm (Conference POY, NFL invite), Savage (West Point), the others what is your measure of success? State championships? - hard to win in 6a. All those players won multiple district titles had phenomenal statistics in their HS careers and some fantastic college careers as well.

The Raiders may not be the toast of everyone but the kids have done and will do some good things. Some coaching changes would be welcomed as well.... schematically.

As far as whet they have coming back if not mistaken 8 on offense and 7 on defense. They should be more athletic and faster overall as they look to mix in some young players from the freshman squad last year and some new players.
