Any scrimmage games set, if so when/where. I know several teams, that would be interested if anyone wants to play....PM me.

It's gonna be a bitter sweet season for me as well. My youngest will graduate from high school. Can't wait, because this team has played together for quite a while now and they have an opportunity to do very well, but I know it will pass much too fast, the kids I've coached in summer ball will scatter accross the country and my son will be too far away to catch every game. But my friends, that's life.....and baseball is life.

Bulldog, I have to say thank you, you have made my day maybe even my year! The (or girl, of course) added to your statement brought a smile to my face. For a semester of college I had to prove to a group of guys (I was one of two girls in the class) that a girl really could know baseball as well as a guy.

 

February 15th has been one of my favorite days since I was in the 5th grade! This will be the first time in 15 years that someone from my family hasn't been apart of a high school team in some role.

 

 

Well, congratulations to you. If it weren't for the many women volunteers I've had the great priviledge to be associated with in my many years of baseball, much of what we accomplished would never have happened. I had a coach one time tell one of my greatest volunteers "women don't belong in baseball." He was wrong then, and he's still wrong today. If you ever need a baseball fix, give me an e-mail or pm. I 'll guarantee I'm at a game somewhere from March 26th through August 1st or even in the Fall.

Here's an idea, the next time someone drops you off at the field, picks you up, feeds you, washes your uniform or says "good game"....take time to look them in eye and say "thank you very much"....:thumb:

If it wasn't for my daughter and a couple of her friends, we wouldn't have been able to feed the oppoents fans last year. The parents that were scheduled to be in the consession stand had an emergency and couldn't make it. So those three girls filled in a did one heck of a job.

From March on, through August....my food consumption, is concession stand based 6 days a week. Hot Dogs taste better, while leaning against a Dugout, talking about Baseball....:thumb:

I most certainly will, one of my favorite subjects. I wonder if a certain GM, needs help in developing starting pitching, because I know a guy very well, that would be willing....

One of our parents smoked some ribs. He started early that morning. That was some of the best ribs I have had. Hot chocolate is very popular during the first part of the season. I've been trying to get the women to allow brats to be on the menu. But, they won't budge. I need a petition. :sssh:

I have coached them in T-Ball and Cal Ripken and watched as they played High School and College baseball. My oldest will start his coaching career this year, so I won't be shut out completely. I have laughed and cried with them, but most importantly have always been there to support them. Thanks for the memories, memories that will last a lifetime and beyond.

Oh how sad..But, look on the bright side..you should get to do this all over again when the gradkids come.

To the guys and gals with their last season at hand- CHERISH IT, EMBRACE IT and LOVE IT. You will miss it but stay in touch with your local high school program. The only way baseball can continue to grow in KY. is if true fans stay involved and in touch with their local programs rather they have kids or not. Baseball has grown tremendously but still has a way to go and when the powers that be see average fans concerned about the direction of a program, the facilities, the kids then baseball flourishes. Enjoy but don't forget that when your kids are gone that there are parents and coaches that are just like you were. They need continous support and help. Stay in touch by volunteering, financial support, moral support or whatever route you can find. After all, it is America's sport!
