There are a few teams that have me really excited this year and Station is one of them.  I can't wait to see how the season goes for them.

Agree!  Always been a big Coach Hawk fan. Looking forward to seeing them face BG in person. Will be pulling for them other than that game. Should be a fun season for Defender Fans!

  • Always heard if you are gonna be the best, you have to beat the best. That’s our new bar.

  • We might not win a game with this schedule, but our kids will play hard. It gets tough making a schedule when you have had a little success. We are very excited about this.

All ? are going to be on that Trinity game on August 18th. Great game to start the season. The winner has to like their chances to get to Kroger field. Both teams return a lot from last season. I believe will be two top 5 teams in 6A.

I have always been a firm believer that iron sharpens iron and playing as many competitive games as you can to get you prepared. I had a wise coach once tell me that if your toughest game is week 10 you have done your team an injustice.

Coach Hawkins is doing this.

I know their 1st scrimmage is against LCA. Does anyone know who their 2nd scrimmage is against?

Their 2nd scrimmage will be against Great Crossing.

@KP33 do you know the reasoning why Station vs Douglass was moved to Saturday at noon? If I'm the Station boosters, I would be highly upset at losing such a large home gate! The 2021 Douglass game at Station was the biggest HS football crowd I've seen in Lexington... Stands and sidewalks full of folks.

Now you lose all of the casual fans that want something to do on a Friday night, as well as Little League players and parents that would have attended the night before.

The game was moved to Saturday by the school board. They believe it will be easier to manage the crowd better during daylight. That game will still have a large crowd. It will be the only game in town and will draw. Regardless, the coaches did not have any input in this decision. If by chance we play each other later in playoffs, that game would be played on Saturday as well.

He rushed for 1001 yds for GRC so definitely big pick up for Station.
