Miami Southridge, the team that Grant County beat by 15, also lost to Corbin by 8 in the same "Smokey Mountain" tourney.

I know comparing scores is a fool's errand, but the Redhounds are ranked 5th in the 13th Region in the latest "Roundup" on BGP. Does anyone think Corbin belongs in the Top 40 in Kentucky right now?

They have played and beat teams longer than WC. Didn’t seem to bother them last year in the semis. That game was for right there for either team to win!

Exactly. If that is how this team loses this year so be it, but they are dominating long teams.

Cov. Cath. is a different team this year and their 4 guard set, and any truly quality 4 guard set, in High School Hoops can be overpowering.  In the sense of speed, toughness, tenacity, defense, penetration, and shooting.  All things Cov. Cath. over excels at.  Taking nothing away from anyone else.  Their only weakness, and I probably would not even say it is a weakness, is their rebounding….and that has yet to be an issue.  
 

What Cov. Cath. can accomplish with this 4 guard set, does not make me worry playing anyone, size-able or not.  Additionally, Isparo, arguably the best player in the state, is the great equalizer.   And they have put together a truly great “team” around Him, playing outstanding “team” basketball.

There is not a team in the state they cannot handle.  And yes, time will truly tell.

What is the length of the guards?

That's one of the differences with Warren Central compared to most teams when it comes to discussing size and length.  They have only one of their primary guards that isn't 6'4"-6'5", their point guard Villafuerte.  They basically play positionless basketball, which could leave them vulnerable to a team with a true big man as it can make post defense more difficult, though they aced their test against Moreno (and then some), but it makes them very, very difficult to match up with because of all the sets they can run.  It sounds like CovCath is running much the same set, so I'm just curious to the size of the players they have. 

I certainly wouldn't speak in absolutes when it comes to CovCath and Warren Central.  That game last year was very back and forth, and while I believe Warren Central is a better team this year than they were last - which has the agreement of basically everyone who has seen them - it sounds like the same may be true of CovCath.  If they meet, I look forward to seeing the game.  Of course, I'd just as soon hope that someone takes out CovCath before then.  Not a fear thing, but I really don't care about taking the path of least resistance.

Yeah but their length wasn’t the issue, it was the clunky offense with a couple bigs and forcing it. They play so spread open now they will be a tougher out this year watch.

Simon Kenton did beat North Oldham but North did not have Dallas Roberts for that one.

I'd add Hebron Connor to this list.  They have 4 players averaging double figures, can shoot & are Senior heavy.  They looked really good taking out CovCath in Park Hills recently.
