2007 Clay County

Featured Replies

If Clay County Keeps its core group of Kids together this year could be special but Next year could really be one to remember, I wonder how many of those Middle schoolers that went 24 and 0 during two seasons will be around when their seniors.

Something happens to Kids in Clay co. they either fall in love and quit or get talked into thinking their going to be a basketball Hero and quit, many kids have throw away great football careers to ride the pine in a basketball gym.

Some kids just can't handle the brutal sport of football

Anyone got any news on Clay County or any predictions on how their season will go?

They have a lot of people back. Can they overcome the "offense only" title they have acquired? They have speed and depth not seen at Clay in a while. If Stepp will let up on the rest of the staff and let them play defense, they could go a long way. I know the first game is against Lynn Camp, but think about this: Lynn Camp has the state's leading rusher, against Clay, who has the state's leading passer.

Where else will you will find that kind of matchup? Call me crazy, but Clay's best talent in years is soph. down through the 7th grade. When is kickoff?:dancingpa

will stepp bring the clay co. boys up here to UK's passing tournament this summer for us Lexingtonians to see? :creepy:

Who is in Clay's new district?

Clay

Perry Central

Letcher Central

North Laurel

Whitley County

North Laurel

Whitley County

Trading Bell Co. and Rockcastle for North and Whitley improves their chances for a district championship from almost non-existent to probable.

They don't put Whitley and North in the win column yet. Those will be very tough games.

Didn't say they were. I'm just saying if I had a choice of trying to get a win over North and Whitley or Bell and Rock, I know which way I would go.

Is this schedule 5A or 4A?

How will the special teams be for the tigers? Kickers, punters, snappers and coaches?

it looks like august 24th @ knox central 6:30. I think that unless Clay learns how to stop the run Lynn Camp could pull an upset. Clay did not do well against teams who primarily run the ball, in fact all three losses came against running teams kc, Rock and almighty Bell. Lynn camp will have to play stellar defense against this high powered O. If you're a fan of either styles you will love this game!:fight:

Interesting that Clay would agree to play at Knox Central two years in a row. Would this be the bowl that rotates between Knox Central and Lynn Camp each year?

I don't know that much about Clay County, but I understand that have some speed and William Blair a former Rockcastle player and assistant coach has joined the Clay County staff. He will be helping improve the Clay County "D". I know William is a fine young man and was a very good player for Rockcastle.

Blair / Schmare--------

Clay is awful when it comes to defense. They could score on anybody but until they stop someone, they will be average at best. Whitley, North, or Letcher will win that district and my money is on Letcher.
