Official underclassmen list comes out Jan 19

Add A-Pittman from Ohio State to the list he has a press conference scheduled at his old high school next week.

I can understand him going early being the RB class is said to be weak overall but, very strong for the draft in 08.

Darius Walker???

Why?

Thats what I was thinkin!

Maybe he figures with Jimmy Clausen coming in and Charlie calling the plays he would get about 4 or 5 touches per game next year.

I really hate looking at these list. There are always names that have me saying why, why, why.

Like...Darius Walker - ND, Chris Henry - AZ, Gary Russell - MINN, A. Pittman - OSU, Ramonce Taylor - Texas, Danny Ware - GA, Dwayne Wright - Fresno, Robert Meachem - Tenn, etc.

Of those guys I listed, Meachem has a great shot at an NFL career but this class is loaded at WR and his status could only go up by staying another year at Tennessee. The rest just look like really bad decisions to me.

I read in the paper where Coach K had spoken with Brian Brohm in person and twice on the phone. Brian is a Cardinal and I feel for the Coach where he has Recruit Brian into staying. This is not a knock against Brian but the system we have. I hate to see any player leave early, but understand if they have completed their education then it might be OK. How many QBs have left their school early and done well? I know Big Ben had one good year.

Darius Walker???

Why?

I would guess that he figures that it may be now or never. I don't think that his stats would be as good after next year. The Irish lose several offensive lineman, the quarterback, and both starting receivers. In addition it would appear that James Aldridge will get a bigger share of the carries.

He doesn't have breakaway speed, but he does a lot of things well. I could see him having a nice career in the NFL as a backup / 3rd down back. The things that he can do on the field remind me a little of Kevin Faulk.

Also him going 1st or 2nd round in the draft isn't that big of a deal. He can afford to go in the latter rounds. He is already a multi-millionaire.

Care to explain that for those of us that don't know?

Me too...TELL US!

Not to speak for Strike-3, but I believe Darius Walker won a lawsuit paying several million dollars where he was racially profiled. Don't know the details, and I could be wrong, but I think this is the right guy and that would explain him having several million dollars.
