January 11, 200719 yr Not to speak for Strike-3, but I believe Darius Walker won a lawsuit paying several million dollars where he was racially profiled. Don't know the details, and I could be wrong, but I think this is the right guy and that would explain him having several million dollars. :thumb:

I agree. James Aldridge got off to a slow start this year, due to a lingering injury from his senior year in high school. He missed at least 5 or 6 games. Weis, won't be able to keep a 5-star RB on the bench, so I would expect Darius's role to be reduced if he were to stay.
January 11, 200719 yr Darius is at worst, IMHO, a 2nd round pick. He'll have a combine opportunity to earn some extra bonus money, but I think he's assured of at least a 2nd round selection.

He's more of a gamer, IMO> Don't forget that a big part of the combine are the interviews -- I dare say he'll do much better in that setting than many of his peers. Not to mention, if he can pull off a strong 40 time, it becomes gravy.

I like Walker and I like his versatility, but I think there are better backs, and then there are guys who probably didn't have the success Walker did in college, but have more potential who teams might take. There's no way, if I were an NFL GM, I'd draft Darius Walker in the second round. I agree with STRIKE that he reminds me of Kevin Faulk, but from memory, Faulk was a more explosive player in college than Walker.

I didn't post that to criticize what you thought about Walker's draft status. I respect your opinion and you could very well turn out to be right. What you say about Walker is correct...he's good at picking up blitzes and receiving out of the backfield. He could turn out to be a good 3rd down back for some team...for me personally though, I just can't see spending a second round pick on a guy that might become a good 3rd down back. I think you could wait and get him later...or get someone else to fill that spot. I think most teams would go after a bigger need, or a player who could contribute on more plays. That's just my take... I wouldn't be surprised either way.

Even though I really hope you are right, I dont think it will happen. I believe he will go in the 3rd at the earliest and most likely though will be between a 4th and 5th round pick IMO...
