Mercer County at Elizabethtown Predictions/Updates

Can Mercer County's rushing game keep Elizabethtown's offense off the field and make some stops to keep this one close? I think Elizabethtown takes this one by 2-3 TDs. Waiting in the wings for the winner of this one is a date with 10-0 and number one Christian Academy of Louisville.

I agree.  I believe ETown wins by at least 3 tds.

Mercer is an up and down team due to playing a lot of underclassmen.  They just held West Jessamine to a season low in points in a 63-13 win.  If they show up focused and have minimal turnovers/penalties then they can play with some teams. Is Owensboro Catholic that good or did ETown have a bad night?  Owensboro Catholic has a common opponent with Mercer in CAL.  CAL beat Mercer and Owensboro Catholic by about the same amount but CAL has beat most teams by the same score.

I think E-Town wins but I got to be honest I wouldn’t be shocked if it went the other way they have been suspect at best recently.

Mercer has the ability to compete in this game.  They have just been so up and down this season.  Can't overlook them but they will have to have a really good game to win.

Etown has been too. Won the games they should have won but don't have that signature win. Ashland was a game they should have won but couldn't put it together. Got completely dominated by Owensboro Cath. Lost to Bardstown without the starting QB. Will be interesting to see which team shows up.

Regardless of the outcome of this game. CAL puts a running clock on whomever advances to the second round!

I would say you are correct.  Mercer beat CAL in the regular season in 2019 & 2020.  This years CAL and Mercer teams totally different and Mercer really didn't have a chance.  With CAL beating Owensboro Catholic by about the same score they beat Mercer by I don't see ETown having a chance with CAL either.
