Hopkinsville (4-5) at Paducah Tilghman (4-5)

So many similarites between these two. Both teams have defenses better than the stats would suggest, mainly due to untimely turnovers and poor decisions made by the offense. Hopkinsville is allowing 20.1 p.p.g. while Tilghman is allowing 18.22 p.p.g.

Hopkinsville was an underdog in the opinion of most in this game last season and ended up winning the game 34-6. Hopkinsville has won 8 of the last 10 against Tilghman.

PT seems to have found a formula by just handing the ball off to White since the Malachi Rider injury and I would expect more of the same. Jack James has made better decisions when it hasn't been expected that he complete a pass on every down.

Mercer has been the Tigers biggest weapon on offense, accounting for nearly 62% of their receiving yards on the season and 6 of the 8 reception touchdowns.

Do the Tigers hand Tilghman another loss and force them to 4-6 for the 2nd consecutive season or does PT have enough to get back on the winning track against a team they could use a win against?

I like Tilghman in this game, but not by alot.  Should be close.

My thinking as well.

Tilghman should win this game, 28-7.

I did not know Hopkinsville had won 8 out of the last 10. This is a good WKY rivalry. I would have never guessed that disparity in the last 10 meetings.

I like Tilghman by about 3 scores.

Rule 13

If PT comes out and runs the ball; this one is over at half time.  Hop Town has enough athletes to play pass coverage and can break up some passes; if PT runs it down their throat, Tigers don't have a chance.

Take away Daisjaun Mercer and you handcuff Hopkinsville's offense. He's scored half their touchdowns this year.

Tilghman's ground game could be in for a big night. I think they win comfortably.

All these predictions for PT big seem a little optimistic to me. I think Hop town gives them a game.

I fully expect a good battle. Unfortunately, due to a change of plans at the last minute (today), I will miss being at my first game this season. I hope to catch a few minutes of it here and there as it goes along.

I think the PT depth will wear down the Tigers in this one.

PT-28

Hopkinsville-7.

PT with 7-0 lead.  Early 2nd Q

7-7 at the half.  Malachi Rider is back and has gotten several runs.  He looks pretty good.  But J. White has gotten the majority of the RB action

PT 7 Hopkinsville 7

Halftime

Jack James throws an interception near the goal line with just over 2 minutes left in the half. Big missed opportunity for the Tornado.

I can’t for the life of me understand why Tilghman’s won’t just run the ball.
