Daycare

Featured Replies

Just dropped off our baby girl (12 weeks old) at daycare for the first time. That wasn’t fun. Luckily my fiancé and I are still off today and tomorrow before returning to work on Wednesday.

We’ve been dreading this day for a few weeks now. I know she needs to be in daycare, and we don’t really have another option to be honest, but it’s tough today.

Hang in there.  I'm sure you have done the research to make sure that the facility will be taking good care of her for you.

It gets easier.   The first few times are always the roughest.   Whether it's child #1 or Child #3 or 4.

We’ve gotten a little better as the day has gone on. We’ve kept ourselves busy. We just hope she’s not miserable all day.

Just like nkypete and The Raven stated, it does get easier each time.  I'm sure momma is having a harder time even though she may not show it.  It will be OK.

I sobbed when I dropped my first baby off at daycare.  Struggled when I dropped my second born off.  By the time I had my third, I dropped all 3 off and hit the pedal to the metal to get to work, singing all the way.

I totally get where you are.  You are earning your parental stripes.  It gets better.  Your baby will adjust better than you will. FWIW, these painful moments are the best times of your life.

She has been fine both mornings! She’s also been in a good mood when we’ve picked her up, so I think she’s adjusting okay so far.

Today was definitely easier than yesterday, hopefully that trend continues.

When she is old enough to really interact with the other kids and the caregivers, that is when you will see that it was good for her.  Then you'll spend a week or 2 feeling foolish that you were every worried about it at all.

Daycare today is better than ever. With technology and updates throughout the day it provides connection, peace of mind and takes a lot of the concerns away.

They have an app where they track diapers, feeds and naps, and also allows you to message the teachers. They respond to our messages in less than 5 minutes, which I’m glad.

Good!  Kids never cease to surprise.

Thanks! When she's more skilled using her hands, we'll get her signed up for BGP!
