6A #1 Saint Xavier (3-0) travels to Elder (OH) (3-1). St. X is coming off a open week. Elder (OH) is coming off a 17-14 loss to St. Edward (OH).

Elder looks improved from last year and is ranked 8th in Ohio according to Calpreps.com rankings. 
 

The St. X starting defense has only given up 1 touchdown in 3 games. Elder will be the best team the Tigers have played to date and will need the offense to play turnover free and rely on the defense to get the win. 

Last year St. X won 31-21.
 

This looks to be a close game between to fairly even teams. Does St. X continue their win streak or does Elder get revenge for last years loss?

The Pit, "Elders 12th Man" is going to be a fun atmosphere on Friday. I'd like to attend if I didn't have other plans. This could come down to whoever has the ball last. I'd look for a tight low scoring game.

I love that schedule like this. I do believe Elder wins this game. 34-27

As stated, it does look like Elder is better than last year, so it should be another slug fest between these to teams. Like most games, if X can limit turnovers they give themselves a good shot. 

Off the clips I've seen of Elder they're very good at the LOS, but their skill positions seem to be a bit behind their big guys. Their offensive scheme reminds me of Male's, RPO with QB run game. Think X will be able scheme some things up in the passing game to help get their run game moving.

If Elder scores that many then they're going to win for sure. But that's a lot to score against this St. X defense assuming it's all offensive scores.

Yeah, I'll be surprised if score that many. Last year they only scored 21 so I think it will be that or less.

I see this game a race to 17 pts. Whoever can get there first probably wins, both teams defenses are really good. Elder's defense doesn't seem to be as apt to give up the big play like they did last year so the Tiger offense will have to be methodical in their approach and take what the Panthers give them. But the first to 17 wins in my opinion. 

I want the Tigers to win but the most important thing is to avoid the injury bug!

Elder at home is a different animal, and have a few extra players on the field when an out-of-state team comes calling, so I don't see a Tiger victory in the cards.  Elder by 7-10.

I think this has all the makings of slugfest. Off week proves to be beneficial for the Tigers and they score a 4th quarter TD to take the lead and win... 21-17! Go Tigers.
