The Kenton and Campbell County youth teams now stop at 6th grade.  The senior division was dropped when middle school ball started.

Boone County youth programs run through middle school as the schools don't have teams.  They play in a league down in KY.

As for Cov Cath, it wouldn't surprise me if they have a couple teams at the 7th and 8th grade levels, or they have a JV team of combined 7th and 8th graders.  I know some of the larger schools put together JV teams to get those kids more game action.

Thanks.  That would make sense.  I saw some pics of the game and some of the CovCath guys looked tiny.  They may have multiple teams.

Pretty sure Colonel Youth has one 7th grade team that plays in the NKMSAA (these have to be parochial school kids). Their main 8th grade team plays in the GCL youth league (these can be public school kids). And they have an 8th grade B team that plays the small NKY schools in the NMKSAA (parochial).

Paducah Middle 35 Mayfield 6 -7th grade

Paducah Middle 38 Mayfield 6 -8th grade

Holy Cross defeated Sharp Middle school.  I don't know the exact score but something like 38-0.  The Indians have resurrected their middle school team and have a roster of about 25 6-8th graders that can hopefully help the numbers on the high school team the coming years.  One stand out is Littello Johnson a 6-3 300 pound lineman 8th grader who can move.  He could be a varsity starter next year.

They've got a pretty good 6th grade running back / linebacker that recently transferred there, but he's currently playing for the Bengal Tigers.  If he grows, he'll be a solid player come high school.

This 8th grade team seems to be explosive on offense and stingy on defense.

Lots of potential but poor tackling and bad penalties on defense and depend on 2 players on offense even though there are many other options. Super soft schedule compared to last season. I hope these issues don't spill over into High School. Always seem to have a ton of guys sitting out of practices also. I am concerned because I see a lot of jersey pulling on defense vs. hitting and wrapping. I see a lot of that with the Frosh team also. Definitely a good group but they aren't being pushed enough this season.

Paducah Middle 7th grade finishes 7-1 for the season, 8th grade 8-0. Playoffs begin after fall break.

Anyone have Twenhoffel/SVA scores from last night? Heard there were some heated folks leaving those two matchups (7th/8th) last night.
