You didnt answer the question what can the other kid do that Maynard cant do? The other kid can play better d & thats all. He definitely is not a better shooter FT or any where else. Maynard is the better ballhandler, rebounder, passer IMO. I'm sure the stats will prove that. Green just like Maynard & any other kid is a teenager who reads these things so there needs to be a little more tack when discussing a specific kid. Your could have made your point on Green with a better choice of =words.

Elliott has 3 people that can score the Basketball they need 5 on the defensive end. I like Maynard coming off the bench. Greene looks lost out there.

Boy for a couple of kids that look lost out there they sure found there way around the court during the summer time and last season. Just my opinion but seems that Maynard's shooting spreads the court out for the big three to move and score and Greene's size gives them some rebounding and someone to push around with the bigger people underneath.

With Maynard and Greene in the lineup they beat East by 2 and lost by 1 both at home. With the new lineup they beat East by 21 at East. They also beat Rowan Co. by 15 at home so you tell me. Maynard played well at East off the bench and scored 4 points vs Rowan he had 1 basket and made 2-3 from the foul line. Greene hasnt played in 2 games.:thumb:

Hey when you have two weeks to prepare for a team you should play them a little better the third time around. Thats good stragety by the Elliott coaches. I wonder if they have a two week layoff before the districts.

I am not going to argue about who is the better player because they both are good in different way's. One night one will benefit the T-E-A-M more and the next night the other!! BUT for some reason (cant explain why) the lineup change did give the T-E-A-M a much needed spark. Sometime's it's not about who is the best player but it's about chemistry. The Maynard kid is still getting to play(i was told he was in within 2or3 min. both game's) and the

T-E-A-M is winning so you Elliott Co guy's should be happy!!!!! As for Greene I have a great friend who is involved with the Elliott program says Greene run's last in drill's and sometimes even sit's down and quit's. How many coache's are going to play a kid who does that? Now for starting it is nice, but it's kindof a prestige thing. Everyone cant start and lot's of time's I haveseen the player of the game come off the bench. Twenty five year's ago I didn't start for my team but I did come off the bench and gave it 150% brother doing whatever was needed for T-H-E T-E-A-M to win, and was proud doing it!!!!!

GO ELLIOTT and GO MAYNARD(150%) where ever they play you!! There's hundred's of kid's who would love to be in your position(where ever it may be)

for their high school team and they never get a chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 3rd East game is the game I was referring to in the previous post where I mentioned the other kid was in in foul trouble early & Maynard probably doubling his minutes. Maynard had 12 pt & 7 boards according to the radio. The Rowan score was by 15 not 21. Green situation remains to be seen I suppose. I think its time to end this because I do not know what goes on in practice or at other times plus all 4 are good kids & the team will need each of them during the year.

Geez, I'm glad I just now read this thread. Prior to the season, I asked about Maynard with no ill intent because I had not heard much about him and I got lambasted and PM'd like I had blasphemed. Now he's getting bashed on this thread to a degree, which should never happen IMO to any kid on this site. I have not seen Elliott play this season, but at the onset of the schedule, he was praised as the teams top 3-pt shooter. Those kids make a difference to any team. There was no reason to bash Russell or Rose Hill by Sportsfan with regards to the kid. I had previously asked innocently about him and his skill and the response was defensive and swift, as if I had denied that the kid could play. Perhaps he is a needed offensive spark off the bench. If he can shoot it as well as Bandit says, and gets disgruntled at Elliott, he can go to nearly any school in the region and play I'm sure. Well, except for those who don't allow kids to change locales.;)

This will be my last post on the thread. If you reread my post I said Elliott beat Rowan by 15.

Greene has had injury that has limited his practice time and kept him out. Maynard is a huge spark off the bench. Who is starting really doesn't matter. The minutes are still there for Maynard and Knipp seems to be a better defender. It's not like they need more offensive weapons. Maynard is huge as a zone buster and will be in the game at the end when free throws matter. The lineup change and layoff seem to have rejuvenated the team. Morgan runs the floor better than Greene but Greene is much more of a banger. There will be a time and place for both in most games and each will be a major contributor. The one to watch now is Timmy Knipp. He is going to continue to mature and be a big part of this team in the post season.

He can shoot that well, leading the teams in 3's made in less attempts.

Ethan Faulkner has the least attempt's with 35 and 16 made 45.7%.

Maynard has 40 attempt's with 16 made 40.0% to be exact!!!!

Do you have any idea where we can find any stats on Elliott or any other team in the region? Or are these some you have been keeping. It would be nice to see some from time to time to see how everyone throughout the region is doing.

If you have a script to the A.D.I. they will be coming out in a couple or three week's!!!! They will supply you with the 16th + Paintsville, Johnson Central, and Lawrence player's stat's!!
