Does anyone know if they are going to charge admission tonight in Florence for the BW / DH game. I paid to get into Meinken last night and did not see a game not heard anything about a rain check. 

BREAKING NEWS:

Tonight’s 9th Region quarterfinal game has been postponed due to forecasted weather.  The game will be played Saturday at Florence’s Thomas More Stadium, time is TBD as of now.  

 

I wonder how this will impact the other Semifinal games b/c I think they were scheduled to be played on Saturday……..

From Link article this morning.  here’s the tentative plan for Saturday in Florence. Beechwood-Dixie Heights would play at 11 a.m. followed by Highlands-St. Henry at 2 with the winner of the Beechwood-Dixie Heights game coming back for a second game at 5 against NewCath. The championship game will be at 3 Sunday.

This was my understanding and a staff member at the Thomas More Stadium when I called him. 

Interesting quirk in the pitch count rules.  If you throw 76 on Wed, you need three days rest, and can't pitch on Saturday.  If you throw 76 in the morning on Saturday, you can come back later in the day for 44 more. 

So, the rain and playing two games in a day may actually work to Beechwood/Dixie's advantage.  If either team gets up, they can pull their starter and save what's left of his 120 pitches for the day for game 2.  But the NCC guy who who threw 76+ on Wed cannot come back at all on Saturday.   

OFFICIAL WEEKEND SCHEDULE (a little different than what was assumed earlier):

Sat, 2pm:  Dixie vs. Beechwood (1st Rd)

Sat, 5pm:  HHS vs St Henry (semi)

Sat, 8pm:  Dixie/Beechwood (winner) vs NCC (semi)

Sun, 3pm:  Regional FINAL!

All of these games played at the Thomas More Stadium in Florence.....

I'm guessing more people know it as Y'alls Stadium than TMS.

Tigers play Newport Central Catholic tonight at 8 in the regional semi final.

Beechwood currently up 12-4 in the top of the 5th with 2 on. Barring a major comeback, looks like Tigers versus Cru in the title game.

Tigers - Cru championship game. Tigers have won both meetings this year, one by a large margin and one by a much narrower one.
