Reds at Rockies (4/29 - 5/1)

Featured Replies

10-4 loss in the first game.  Some of the bats are heating up (Pham, India), but 4 GIDP) were potential rally killers.  Votto and Aquino (an eye-popping .049) are still struggling.

And this is bad, no doubt about it.  Here’s your factoid for the day.   How long has it been since the Reds started this poorly?   All the way back to...

2018.  Started 3-18 on the way to a 95-loss season.   Finished 28-22 to avoid a 100-loss campaign.

They finally DFA'd Aquino.

You wonder how it took that long.  You wonder how long Votto will continue to put up abysmal numbers. Abysmal for any position player, but especially for a first baseman.

Rockies 4, Reds 3.  Matches the ‘18 team.

I would love to see Votto focus on hitting the ball to the left side. Keep the power swing approach but go left side with it. When he was at his best, he drove HR's into left center field. I think if he does that, it gets his timing back. That split second of waiting and keeping the bathead back is what he needs to do to get going.

This is hard to believe but in the Reds lineup yesterday they had two goiters which were hitting now get this .250 or higher. The two Farmer at .253 and Garcia at .250 all the others were below. Also, two (Votto and Fraley) are hitting below .130. Votto .129 and Fraley.116. That is unreal now that we are going into May.

And this is with the DH.  Nine bats instead of 8.

This is just sad. I have nothing else I can say,  I mean what else CAN you say that hasn't already been said?

I think I forgot to mention "brutal" in my last post as in "brutally sad".

I hear you.  I am sitting here with a buddy and ugh...  Back to Memphis and Golden State.

FC Cincinnati is no longer the worst professional team in town.

That is very true!

Fourth inning.  Reds have a hit, Rockies have nine runs.

If anyone wants to cheer on the Phillies with me, climb aboard. Just for this season though.
