The 10th Region Tournament semifinals get underway Monday night at Holmes High School, which is one of the first sites that comes to mind when you think of the 10th Region.  

Semifinal #1 features arguably the two most accomplished programs in the Region's history: 39th District Champion Mason County & 40th District Champion George Rogers Clark.  The Cardinals have won the last two 10th Region crowns, and on their path to last year's title, upended these Royals in the semis by a score of 64-58.  GRC is undefeated within the 10th Region (13-0) as well as the entire Commonwealth (29-0), and a host of prognosticators don't see anyone capable of derailing the train.  The Cards have a balanced attack with four players in double figures, led by junior All-Region guard Jerone Morton (19.2 ppg).

Perhaps the most intriguing matchup for Clark in the 10th is Brian Kirk's Mason County Royals.  The 39th District champs are also undefeated within the 10th Region (12-0) and they are the only top team in the Region that has yet to match up with GRC.  The Cards have beaten Campbell County (76-65), Bracken County (94-62), & Harrison County (84-46).  The Royals are also led by a junior All-Region performer in forward Terrell Henry, who tops the team in scoring (20.9 ppg), rebounding (7.1 rpg), & shooting among those with over 5 shots for the season (61.5%).  

So how do you see this one playing out?  Will GRC continue to run roughshod over the 10th or can Mason County shine in the role of underdog to get the W?

I've got GRC by 14.

I love BK, and am so excited for what he has going on at Mason County, but this is a hill too-high to tackle for his Royals.

They must not sell tickets but 12hrs in advance. I thought it was 24hrs? I was able to get the tickets.

My only thought was maybe it got tricky somehow on a Sunday.
