NBA All Star Game vs NFL Pro Bowl - Which is worse?

Featured Replies

This NBA All Star Game is unwatchable. No one plays defense. One play had two guys in the paint and they let someone drive down the lane right in between them and dunk. I stopped watching the NFL Pro Bowl several years back and I am there now on the NBA All Star game.

To the question in the title, I will say the Pro Bowl is worse.

Is this a joke?

The NBA All-Star game is the best all star game and it’s not remotely close…

All-star games in general feel like something whose time has passed. I don’t get all mad because they don’t treat them seriously as they once did (like baseball purists sometimes do), but they’re so low on the effort scale that it just begs the question what is the point? And while I can’t recall the last major injury to come from one, it is definitely something to fear because it would be so pointless.

Just give the guys the break and move on.

I can't tell you the last time that I watched either, but if I was forced to watch one, I'd go with the NBA.

I don't even watch the extracurricular activities for the NBA weekend anymore.

We all know the answer is the Pro Bowl. For as bad as the NBA all star game is, you at least get to see high level athletes do some amazing things.

The new format has changed the NBA All-Star game for the better.

People love to complain about no defense in the NBA All Star game. It's an All-Star game, what are you expecting? Resetting the score after each quarter and the Elam Ending have made it even more fun to watch than it already was.

Why has basketball in general not gone to the Elam ending? 500 times better than what we now have. Sometimes things so obvious to me in sports need changing take forever to do so. Other examples are the extra point in football, DH rule, and now this.

I think the argument against it would be not knowing how long a game takes. Without a timed final period, who knows how long you'd play in some games.

That's about the only "negative" I can come up with.

I assume the time difference has been studied somewhere along the way. If anything, I could see the games being shorter overall, but I'm not basing that on anything.

To me, the MLB All Star game is the best, because they treat it as close to a real game as possible.  The NBA All-Star game is next, but they play 0 defense.

Plus the people selected to those games actually play.

NFL Pro Bowl is a joke and has been for the better part of the last 2 decades.

Facts.  It’s the only All Star Game I’ll watch.  The rest bore me to death.
