If you are counting on players like Dickie Lyons Jr. to play WR, you're in deep trouble. He wouldn't even be a "preferred walkon" at his home state school LSU. If I remember correctly, Tamme had zero effect back when Hudson played him at WR, he is pretty good as a pass catching (translate as too small to block) TE. Remember all the Tamme buzz when Joker played him at TE against UT? You better stick to the "run the ball" story. UKs only chance is Little and Pulley running the ball. Since you are so in the "know" why don't you just tell us all the schools that little Dickey turned down to attend UK. OK, lets just limit it to the SEC schools... Big twelve? ACC? Anybody? The fact is the kid wouldn't last as a walk-on at LSU. FYI, Holy Cross isn't a top team in Louisiana high school football. What was that about sticking to what one knows? I hope the kid does well, but he wouldn't get a sniff at LSU... or UofL for that matter. To get to six wins UK has to pull at least one upset and not get upset by any of the patsy schools on this years schedule. That means beating a team like USC and not letting down against a team similar to Ohio. They haven't been able to do either of these things recently so I really don't expect them to do both this season. I predict four wins and bye-bye Brooks.

December 31, 200619 yr Personally I think Kentucky will be better next season. With games against EKU, Temple & Florida Atlantic early on, UK should pick up some wins and build even more confidence. They return nearly everyone on both sides of the ball. I think what we're forgetting is that this team is still relatively young. And the talent is beginning to turn into depth.
December 31, 200619 yr A 5-7 season would be a setback, but to me it wouldn't indicate a step backwards. The schedule is certainly tougher next year, and getting back to 8 wins would be amazing. Going under 5-7 would be pretty bad. UK would have to botch a game pretty badly to not get 5 wins. Even if they miss a bowl game next year, Brooks deserves another season. If he misses a bowl game the next 2 years, it'll be time for a new coach.

I assume you have been on the other side since you don't want to be a band-wagon-jumper. That make me what ? 3-1 and you? 1-3? I'll take my prediction record over yours any day. December 31, 200619 yr If you're saying 6 at the "very most" you obviously would be surprised if they won just 6. That isn't going to happen. There are 5 that they absolutely will not lose (EKU, Temple, FAtl, MSU, Vandy). I'll stick with m 8-4 prediction in another thread. By no means am I a fan that thinks this bowl win over Clemson makes us world beaters but next year will be a better more experienced team than this year. I agree....but they are losing 3 OL, and don't have much depth behind them....a QB that's not that mobile....it could be sack central, or rushed throws.

My point is, UK fans will pick against Louisville most of the time and vice versa. And they are quick to chest thump when one of their 30 predictions comes true.

They've played very well lately and beat one of the most talented teams in the ACC, relatively handily. EKU & Florida Atlantic are 2 games that Kentucky should win with relative ease. It'll continue to build their confidence and get the fans excited about a matchup with the oft-hyped Louisville team in Lexington. MSU should be another win at home, and then the Cats face 2 teams that they proved they can compete with earlier this season. Florida & Tennessee...and both of those games will be @ Commonwealth. I don't know how much of an advantage it is for Kentucky to play in Lexington; however, I feel like it's much LESS of a disadvantage than going to Neyland or playing in The Swamp. Kentucky will be fine and I think next year is the one where they beat Louisville, Florida or Tennessee. All 3 games are in Lexington.
